Specific Gravity to Sugar in grams

Hey, I'm doing a biology lab on the amount of sugar present in a potato. My idea was to do a vodka like potato mash and then measure the gravity of it. Is there any formula to convert specific gravity to total amount of sugar present in the solution? Thanks :)

    Pilsner beer doesn't ferment

Hello, I brewed around 4 All Grain pilsners and each time the fermentation wasn't fast enough and stopped at around 1.021 Sg. The original gravity was 1.055 sg but it took around 3 weeks to get down to 1.021. On my last brew I followed every step and for some reason the og was 1.065 but it...

How to carbonate beer that has dead yeast

I haven't made it yet, I'm just trying to get all the info before brewing. If possible I wouldn't want to buy all the equipment because it seems quite expensive. If nothing works I think I'll use the Paintball CO2 tanks and carbonate them with those. Thanks for all your help

How to carbonate beer that has dead yeast

Hello, I'm brewing a maltzbeer which is a german beer for kids, it's non alcoholic and sweet. You brew it the same way as a normal beer only after a day of it fermenting you kill the yeast. My problem is, that since you killed the yeast adding sugar to it wouldn't help it carbonate. You could...

    Primary Fermenter

That recipe looks really good, sadly I would have to order half of the ingredients online, my local brew shop doesn't have Caramunich Malt and Hallertauer Hops :( I'm making mine with Pilsner Malt, Tettnang Hops and Bavarian Lager yeast.

    Primary Fermenter

Hello, this is my first post on this forum. I want to try to make a Vienna Lager. On the recipe it says to ferment in primary until fermentation is finished then to transfer to a carboy and lager in a fridge for 3 weeks. So my question is what is the difference between a primary fermenter and a...
