Opinions on the new Sabro hop

Good to see this thread resurrected! I currently have a Strata/Cashmere/Sabro ipa going. I read a lot about how overpowering Sabro is, so I went pretty light. The smell is insane! I’ll post again once it’s in a glass. Tomorrow I’m making another with Hallertau Blanc and Sabro.

    Oskar Blues Recipes

My job got insanely busy, and I finally got around to brewing Dale’s yesterday. I hit all my numbers perfectly and looks like it’ll be spot on at 6.5% and 65ibus. It’s chugging along this morning. I couldn’t get any crystal 77, but I had 75 on hand. I doubt it’ll be noticeable. I also have...

    AHA Surly Wort Rally

Alright, mine is down to 1.020 with the help from 3711. I gave it a little swirl and it foamed up pretty good...you know how a starter foams up if ya swirl it around? I'm guessing it's still working. I'll just let be for a couple months and let the Brett do its thing. I've never used Brett...

    AHA Surly Wort Rally

Yeah, I had similar issues. I added 1lbs d-45 candi syrup and omega's American farmhouse. I checked it a few days later because it looked like it quit. 1.040...I check again 2 days later, still 1.040. I had a starter of 3711 going so I tossed it in there. It kicked right back up for a...

AHA/Surly wort giveaway - recipe ideas?

I got mn, put my starter of 3031 in the fridge at my parent's house and after several beers, my dad accidentally bumped the flask with a beer bottle and it shattered. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I got a new flask. I got more yeast. I'm going with Omega American Farmhouse. I also picked up some...

    Oatmeal IPA

I'm doing this soon. Bought everything and I'm ready, but I have a few beers I have to do first. I'm doing mine with 2row, Simpson Golden Naked Oats and Flaked Oats. Magnum, Cascade and Columbus in the boil and then dry hopping with cascade, columbus, Citra and Simcoe. Wlp007. Fingers crossed!

New Danstar Belle Saison Dry Yeast?

I just took a gravity reading from my Rye Saison...1.002!! Ends up being 6.6% and 30ibu. The sample is delicious!! I'll let it sit a couple more weeks and keg it up.

American Wheat Beer Rye Pale Ale

I'm resurrecting this thread because I read through this a while back while researching a decent rye pale ale recipe. I must say thank you boys! I wanted it to be a bit darker...it's fall and the beginning of my darker beer seasons, but after lots and lots of reading here's what I ended up...

New Danstar Belle Saison Dry Yeast?

I just ordered everything to make my annual rye saison we call, Ryse On! I usually use 3711, but this year I'm trying Belle Saison. I hope it works, since this my wife's favorite beer I make. 6lbs FrancoBelges Pilsen 2lbs dingemans Munich 2lbs flaked rye 1lbs Local Honey .5oz magnum...

Wyeast Mount Adams Blend - What to Brew?

I have a black saison recipe that I've made a few times now and turns out great with 3711. I'm Thinking about picking This stuff up and putting an interesting spin on that recipe. I'd probably make it in the next few weeks and plan to age it until next fall or winter. Thoughts?

    Rakau Hops

Oh boy! Now I'm pumped! I'm making a Rakau/Calypso IPA tonight. I bought a bunch of hops a while back and I have recipes for all of them except these two. So I thought, what the heck. 10lbs Golden Promise 2.5lbs 2 row 1lbs 20L 8oz carapils 1oz Belma FWH 1oz Rakau @20 1oz Calypso...

A new spin. Recreating my first beer

I brewed NB's Sinistral Warrior for my first beer. I dry hopped with 2 oz of Cascade, and now, coming up on my 4th anniversary of home brewing, I decided to do it again. Only now, I don't like to buy kits...I make up my own recipes. I've been teetering on partial mash and AG (I've only made...

    Wyeast 3711 French Saison

Yeah, I usually mash my saison at 150 or 152. I'm racking it today to secondary and my FG is 1.001 from 1.066. I got better efficiency than I thought I would for a second year in a row and wound up with a 8.5%. No complaints here, when I originally came up with this, I was shooting for a Tank...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Planning on brewing a recreation of my first beer I ever brewed, with a few small adjustments. Weening myself off partial mash brewing...this is the last one, I think. Unless I do another huge imp stout or barleywine, I might need the help. Pretty excited!
