    Beer Signs

I got my collection of signs from a couple of places. Most came from a bar I used to frequent when I lived in NYC that closed down. I got to know the bartender pretty well and he let me have them. Some came directly from the brewery. The rest I think came from ebay.

    Beer Signs

Hey, I'm sorry, I missed your earlier post re: the Chimay sign. You're the only person who has expressed interest in it, so it's yours if you want it (the 2 Below and Fat Tire are currently spoken for). UPS is giving me an estimate of about $13 ($12.93) to ship to your address (assuming...

    Beer Signs

The Chimay Sign, the Leffe sign, and the Yuengling Life Preserver, though GTengineer10 may still want that. I'm going to be putting up kegs and keezer parts in a separate post, hopefully this weekend. Sean

    Beer Signs

Not trying to stir any pudding, so I'm going with first come, first served. Shipping from a non-business is more than I would have thought (just looked for integra93ls and it surprised me how much it was). If he or anyone else isn't interested in paying shipping costs, I totally understand and...

    Beer Signs

UPS is giving me an estimate of $18, so I'll go with $48 total. My zip is 30316 if you want to try another service.

    Beer Signs

Hello everyone, Sadly, I've had to deconstruct my home bar. Happily, it's because it's now a nursery. I'm not sure when I'll have a new man-cave, and since space is at a premium, I've decided to sell off some of my collectibles. I'm starting with some of my beer signs. Prices are...

Heading to Atlanta (Duluth) this week

Well, fair enough, but the drink & swerve is an Atlanta tradition! /kidding, I don't actually encourge drinking and driving. //Cabs are cheap here.

Heading to Atlanta (Duluth) this week

I have to second the Brickstore suggestion. It is, by far, the best bar in town. TacoMac is a decent second (I've only been to the one at Lindburgh, but they have 50+ beers on tap). Duluth is basically a suburban no-man's land, as you've no doubt realized. Oh, and since it's Wednesday...

    Taking Notes

Yeah, that's the exact type of stupid sh*t that I do all the time. Drinking the product tends to magnify my errors, but that's half the fun, right?

    Taking Notes

Pretty much. Also, so I can track my progress - you know, document becoming a better brewer & producing better beers. Hopefully anyhow. I'm using a similar system now - spiral bound notebook - and it's failing me. I guess what I'm looking for is a standardized way of doing it so that I...

    Taking Notes

I have a confession: I am a bad note-taker. I routinely leave off important information (gravity readings, mash temps, measures of hop additions, etc - not all at once, but over many brewings). I want to fix that though. I saw that Kaiser had a great note-paper set up. See here...

    Brewers night out - 1/26

Okay, total geek question of me, but anyone know what's in these notes and/or where I could get similar note pads? I think it could really help my note taking.

    MacGuyver brews in a bag...

Hey, you can totally do a full boil indoors. Just build a heat stick (plans are all over the place, including the most recent Zymurgy). I have a very similar set up and that's what I use to do a full boil. Huzzah for indoor brewing!

    Beerswap III: Brewsmith's Beers

I'm having the Brown right now. It's delicious. First thoughts - it's a lot darker than I was expecting, but still quite nice. There's a nice burnt chocolate aroma to it. Not a lot of hops, but quite balanced between the burnt malt/chocolate flavors. The beer has a great texture to it, I...

Erlenmeyer Flasks - Where to get locally

A bit of a random question, but I thought I'd give it a go. Does anyone know of a store that would sell Erlenmeyer Flasks? My LHBS doesn't sell them and I'd rather not wait for shipping. If someone in Atlanta has a specific recommendation, that'd be awesome, but I'm looking for general...

    Beerswap III: Brewsmith's Beers

80 Shilling Arrggh. I just typed up a "here's my critique while I drink" but I lost it, damn backspace! Here's my basic review. I know very little about this style, so I may be the worst to judge, but I really enjoy this beer. It's got a nice bass note that's a roasted bitterness, almost...

    Magic Hat #9 Clone

One recommendation I have is to start with a small amount of the apricot extract in the secondary, then taste and add more until you get the flavor you're going for. It's pretty flavor-forward and can overpower some of the more subtle flavors in the brew. Oh, and I used cal ale, not ringwood.
