Whoops! Primed, then straight to kegerator

Out of habit I primed a keg with 1/4c turbinado yesterday (just dumped it in, not dissolved). But, I had an open spot in the kegerator and put it right in the fridge. I didn't think anything about it until I pulled a pint today and it was very sweet. I know the lack of carbonation has a big...

    What are these glasses?

I received this set of glasses as a gift. Basicbrewing convinced me that glassware does have a significant effect on the character of beer, so I'd love to know how accurate these descriptions are: Am Pilsner 15.25oz English Stout 20oz Belgian Ale 16.6oz European Pub 20oz Dutch Lager 23oz...

Help plan my first series of lagers!

    1) I would like to brew 3-5 lagers over the winter without using a fermentation or lagering chamber. I can get reasonably accurate temps by moving around carboys and cornies. 2) Want to start by Thanksgiving. I don't plan to drink them during winter and my basic understanding of lagers is...

How many corny kegs do you have? (and why?)

I'm wondering if I should pick up more kegs before they go up even more in price (or run out and I have to start buying new). My kegerator holds 5 kegs. I have 11 total. Obviously, this lets me have kegs carbing and ageing while still serving 4 or 5. Here are the reasons I'm thinking...

I made the 5 day sweet country cider recipe and tried the stove top pasteurization "sticky" method 3/6 bottles blew the tops off 1/6 the glass blew up So, I put them all in the fridge hoping that would stop fermentation. I've tried to look up info on cold crashing and it appears people...

    Hops to buy in bulk?

I have only brewed 4 kits (and have 3 on deck), but I'm looking ahead and know that in a month I'll want to start experimenting, reducing effort, and cutting costs (without cutting quality). I intend to start reusing liquid yeast by pouring wort into the primary right after racking and buying...

I've recently searched this forum for a TON of answers to my questions. The archives here are amazing! :rockin: I just started brewing last month. I put it off years ago when I found out how much work goes into cleaning/sanitizing all those indiv bottles. Then my best friend started...
