    glacier hops, anyone use them?

Not ideal doesn't mean no bittering. :) ...thus the qualification.

    glacier hops, anyone use them?

Glacier is a Fuggle decedent. It contains balanced and moderate humulene, myrcene, and caryophyllene oils. Citrus and other fruit (peachy/pear) notes as well as an herby and woody aroma. It's low alpha (5.5) means it's not ideal for bittering.

    Arduino - Networked Temperature Monitor

I love microcontroller projects. But I'm left with one lingering question. If you don't go into the garage, how do you extract the beer from the refrigerator?

What are you using? / What are you building?

Past Modest Propane Brewstand 3 tap Coffin Keezer Present I'm working on moving to all electric on the current brewery. Building a new fermentation chamber. But most exciting, I'm developing an SOA centered Brew Station with a high resolution smart phone sized touch screen for at...

    Crash Keezer

Bras and Sistas Please witness my completed 3 faucet keezer. Red Oak ply, pine framing, walnut stain. I still need to aquire a drip tray and two more tap handles. I haven't done a wood working project since highschool, and that was a long long time ago. So I learned quite a bit during...

    Netduino controller issues

The Netdiuno only supports one wire temp sensors in a branch release of 4.1 Plus the netduino has some serious difficulty with regulating power over USB. You may have more stable readings if you use the power block instead. And one more downer, I have a lot of trouble with reliable sockets...

    iBrewmaster vs. Beersmith2

Beersmith 2 is great! Apple is an overpriced, hippie, hype. Disclaimer, Software Engineer

    Stick vs MIG welder

Problem with Combos is they don't do any one thing well. I'd recommend sticking with a recognized brand welder. When it breaks down, you'll kick yourself if you go with an off brand. Not to mention, using a crappy welder can lead a novice to frustration and you won't know why. For the...

    Corona Mill Build

I posted the unfinished mill + hopper in the Ugly Junk Corona thread. But I was disqualified. :rockin: Mistakenly, I thought all corona style mills qualified as ugly junk. Anyway, I finished welding up the stand, so I figured I'd post a picture.

    Money for a brew system

That's exactly like my original rig, except I reinforced the center with some wood, then later welded some additional angle in. It deflected pretty heavily when filled.

Which pump to get? (March, LG, Chugger)

Agreed, any pump will cavitate if you try to pump enough bubbles through it. If you can keep your Chugger running with liquid above 190 and in high ambient temperatures, then here's to hoping success to Chugger, for excellent service.

Which pump to get? (March, LG, Chugger)

My March 815 is installed into a plastic portable tool box of about 14"x8". Within, I used aluminum flashing in an arc over the pump as a splash guard, so I could open the tool box for air cooling, aprox 2.5" of clearance at the peak. I can leave the box closed and the pump has never once...

Which pump to get? (March, LG, Chugger)

I had the same problem. Chugger customer service was exceptional, which is why I never dinged them on my original review. But I never got the pumps to work without shutdown during a re-circulation, they refunded my money. . Go with the March, I've run this thing dry in 105 degree weather and...

    Super Cheap Fermentation Chamber

I had some two by twos sitting around, and an old window AC. I grabbed some foam insulation panels and duct tape. It's not sophisticated, but it's doing the trick for now. Easily keeps liquids down to 55.

    eHERMS 220v 50a Controller

Hey hatrickwah (Ryan right?), What are the two contactors on the upper left for? Are those the master?

    eHERMS 220v 50a Controller

No sir, I just want to understand the why. I did not consider that. Thanks to you both. I'll chew on this and do some more planning.

    eHERMS 220v 50a Controller

PJ, This is an SSR, correct? I'm not sure I understand why the fast blow fuse is 1A instead of 12.5/13A. Isn't a fast blow supposed to be 1.25% of the protected component? For the master switch, for example, would there be a down side I'm not considering to using...
