    Favorite lyric from a song.

See the blind man Shooting at the world. Bullets flying, Taking toll. If you've been bad, Lord I'll bet you have. You'd better close your eyes, You better bow your head, Wait for the ricochet. "Child in Time" Deep Purple Second place goes to just about anything by George Thorogood

So easy and good "we should cook this more often"

Not too quick, but doesn't get much easier. You will need a vertical can roaster, a 12 oz can of your beverage of choice, a small potato, and a pie pan (and, of course, a whole chicken). You can dress it up with a couple of cloves of garlic, some Tobasco sauce, some butter flavored Pam, and even...

    The Dark Tower/The Gunslinger

Sorry if this post wanders and rambles a bit, but there's a lot in this thread I wanted to respond to. First, while I've read some SK, I'm not what you'd call a die hard fan. He writes some decent stuff, but also some cr*p; he's just too hit or miss for me to want to immediately run out and grab...

don't fear the foam... they say

Oxygen is held in solution in water (just like the CO2 in carbonation). This is what fish breath. Any movement of the water will release some of this solution. This is what we do when we agitate or stir the wort, releasing some of the dissolved O2 for the yeast to munch on. Most of the O2 will...

Time in a Bottle (Brewferm Triple)

When you say "cold conditioning", I hope you mean sitting in the basement at 60*, not in a fridge at 40. I know I'll be serving this beer "young", I just don't want to serve it "green". Good luck with your Triple.

Time in a Bottle (Brewferm Triple)

I'll be using 16 oz swing tops, and this is the amount recommended by Mr. Beer (don't laugh, that chart has worked for me before) and the LHBS clerk who sold me the kit. Of course, I have no idea what a Belgian's normal carb level should be. Considering last week (when I started this thread)...

U.A. Cheat Pomegranate Wheat - Mr Beer Experiment

The wheat requires mashing before it will have any effect on your beer. This will require the use of malted barley or wheat to steep along with your grain, and then the liquid (with the grains removed) added to your HME. If you just steep the grains themselves you will just get a bread-dough...

    Worst Beer

This is the one single exception I've found to the rule that export versions of international beers are worse than the local. I had some of this in the Philippines, and as bad as the ones sold in California were, this was worse.

    Let's Over Analyze!

No over analyzing necessary, Army of Darkness, hands down. I'll give you three reasons: 3. Danny Elfman. "March of the Dead" is Epic. 2. Embeth Davidtz. At least until she gets zombified at the end. 1. Multiple evil Ashes!!!! Reason enough by itself.

2 - best HORROR movie EVER

Hey, if Killer Klowns and Shawn made the list, why didn't Idle Hands? Much better than Shawn, plus Jessica Alba!

A Guy Walks Into A Bar

A tenderfoot walks into a North Alaska bar and asks what's to do for fun in the Far North. A couple of locals tell him "There's lots to do if you're a member of the Klondike Club." The tenderfoot perks up and says, "Sounds great. How do I join?" One of the locals replies, "You have to pass...

    Motorcycle Fanatics, show your ride(s)

Yep. '98 Tourist, with tractor seat instead of the crap bench they started putting on them. Don't go fast, but goes anywhere.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Because it's very difficult to stuff a 16oz plastic cup filled with beer in my pants.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Back in the mid-80s I used to have season tickets to the Oakland A's. My seat was front row, directly across from first base. Since I worked the graveyard shift, I could make all the night games during the week and at least the second game of a Saturday double-header. I now forget who the game...

German Domestics vs. German Export bound for the US market.

From my experience, it has to be the pasteurization. When I lived in Germany in the mid '70s the taverns and restaurants near US Military bases carried the export versions, even to the English language labels. If you drove an hour or so away, to a tavern frequented by mostly locals, they served...

I could use some advice on my resume

Unless you've already quit before submitting the resume, I wouldn't mention it at all. And maybe not even then, depending on how long between the two. When it comes up at the interview (and it will), depending on the type of position you're applying for, you could say it was a lack of promotion...
