Rogue Ales Pacman™ Ale yeast substitite

Hi guys, I'm going to be starting my very first partial-mash and am following thi recipe for a Vanilla Bourbon Winter Ale. The recipe calls for Rogues Ales Pacman yeast which is not available right now through Wyeast. I would prefer to substitute a more common yeast strain that I can get my...

Extremely Watery IPA - Dogfish Head 60min Clone

I plugged it into Beersmith and the numbers looked OK. In fact, even my OG was on (~1.064 IIRC).

Extremely Watery IPA - Dogfish Head 60min Clone

I took an OG reading it and was right in where it should have been. I figured there was no point posting an FG since I didn't have the OG. Directly after I took off the the boil it was probably 2.75gal. After chilling I filled to 5gal. I guess I'll wait unless anyone else has some suggestions.

Extremely Watery IPA - Dogfish Head 60min Clone

Sorry guys, I should have waited until I got home, I was just so damn frustrated. Extremely Watery IPA - Dogfish Head 60min Clone

Hi guys, I was extremely stoked last night. I made a Dogfish Head 60min IPA clone a while back (at work, will post recipe later if needed). I had it a week in the fermenter, two in the secondary while dry hopping. Since I was out of town last week, it sat in the bottles for 4 weeks, and chilled...

Small Leak in Primary Ferm. Spigot

I only plan on it being in the primary for a week, then its going into the secondary with the dry hops. So aside from losing a little beer, I shouldn't worry about contamination?

Small Leak in Primary Ferm. Spigot

Hi guys, on my second brew, first is in the bottles. Over the weekend, I started my second (clone of Dogfish Head 60 min IPA). Everything went relatively well except for some slight hop measurement problems. Anyways, I have a small leak in my primary fermenter at the spigot. Its a pretty small...

Recipe Suggestion - Light Malt Extract

edit: $1.99/lb, which is still about $1/lb cheaper than any other place I can find. Is there a table or chart that I can find to show how to "convert" light malt extract to other types? Thanks a lot for the quick responses.

Recipe Suggestion - Light Malt Extract

hey guys, I have my first brew (from kit) bottle conditioning right now. In order to stagger the brews for maximum consistent drinking, I'd like to brew some tomorrow. My local feed store had kits, which I'd like to avoid, but also some other goodies. To try and avoid pricey malt extract in...

    Personal Recipe Database/Records?

Wow, I didn't expect to get two pages of replies. Thanks for all the input, I might just shell out the 20 and get the beersmith; it seems to be the most common.

    Personal Recipe Database/Records?

Hi guys, first time brewer here. I just started last weekend and have a "Robust Porter" fermenting. Anyways, is there a program or database template that people use to keep track or recipes and such? I seen a couple online, but they were just Microsoft Access databases, and they cost like $15...
