Haier 7.1 cu ft freezer for $175 at Costco

I just picked this freezer up from Costco. $230ish in Hawaii. Had to replace my ferm chamber. I wanted an upright but the price was right and it'll fit 2x 6.5gal carboys no problem. Matter of fact, once I finish this second brew today (21st Amendment Bitter American clone) it'll be on its...

What I did for beer today

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/cure-your-short-hose-troubles-100151/ A long ass thread but worth the read. http://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/118/3430/=jkshd1 and the actual part itself.

    Buffalo wild wings

I wasn't really referring to anybody in particular. Right on about it not being a very serious thread. It took me a few minutes to figure this one out. I re-read the thread and I see the comments about spelling earlier. That was a drunk me just being a smartass all around. I caught it as...

What I did for beer today

Inserted some swizzle sticks into my kegs. Foam problem cured! Side note, McMaster charged $16 shipping for 12 (about $12) to Hawaii. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr......

    Buffalo wild wings

After all the hype I finally went to YouTube and watched it.... Yup, pretty damn hilarious. If your feelings get hurt over this, you really gotta find some thicker skin. Will I ever eat there? Probably not. Not because I'd this commercial but from what I've read/heard about their food and...

Pm sent. Also just realized that we hijacked the hell out of Mendozer's thread. Apologies for that. I hope that the interest shown here doesn't keep you from trying to peddle some brew wares out here. It might be worth posting on the HoPS fb page as well. There's quite a few folks on there as well.

Almost forgot, if you're still looking for kegs, I've got two Heinekens sitting out in the garage. I started polishing one, didn't get too far. If you don't mind the slightly less volume (50L) they would probably work just fine. $30 apiece if you're interested.

I tried something similar with some frozen water bottles but couldn't keep it steady and cool enough (low 60's ideally). I got a new freezer picked out from lowes that I'll probably pick up tomorrow. Hell of a downgrade but I'll make it work. I'm gonna brew on Sat, you're more than welcome to...

I'm also at Schofield. If you ever want to do a big brew day, let me know. I'm trying to get on to a group brew with the West Oahu Brewers Club tomorrow. If that falls through, I'll probably just end up down at HBIP to pick up supplies to do a Bitter American clone (damn, those are delicious)...

I'm not one to hate! At least some people out there are getting some decent deals :)

Yeah man, try running a Craigslist ad. It worked out pretty well for me, albeit in the long run. Only thing to watch out for is the excess of Heineken kegs, which are a bit smaller than the 15.5. Whereabouts on-island are you? Been thinking about trying to get some group brews together. HoPS...

Damn, sorry to hear I missed that. The wife would have killed me for everything I would have bought. Every so often I fill up my 'cart' and proceed to checkout just to see what shipping looks like. I then empty the cart back out in the most solemn of ways thinking about what might have been...

I'd definitely be interested. I pretty much get everything from HBIP but there's always room for a little competition. Shipping from Midwest or NB etc is always a killer, too. My 25' IC cost about $40 with parts from lowes. Doesn't work worth a damn on my 12Gal batches though :(

    Black Miller Keg thing

I used a screwdriver to 'mark' the spot, drilled a pilot hole with 1/4" speed bit and then a step bit from home depot (was about $40 iirc). The rubber/plastic stuff on the keg really keeps the bits from walking. It was much easier than the other two.

    Black Miller Keg thing

Standard home depot angle grinder. I just went freehand and it came out pretty well. Ended up with a bit of the black rubbery stuff on my pants though. It's never coming out, oh well, I got a decent mash tun out of it.

    Black Miller Keg thing

I made one into a mash tun. Used it for the first time this weekend brewing up BM's OktoberFast Ale. It dropped 2deg F over an hour long mash. Seemed to work pretty well.

    Festbier BierMuncher's OktoberFAST Ale (AG)

Picked up the grain bill today, brewing tomorrow. Will be the initial run of my new keggle setup (no more coolers for this guy, yay!). If all goes well, should be dispensing this out of an old Heineken keg the middle of next month.
