I havent tried it yet but i have looked at drywall mud pans. You can get a 12" stainless for $13

Wine thief, if i need a large sample. Mostly i use a 10ml glass pipette and check with refractometer.

Was wlp007 but after doing some tasting at white labs, i am playing with wlp090. I really loved the cleanness and hop presence left with the wlp090.

Your fine, i would pitch it. The lag was probably because the Older vial has less vitality and viability. The starter would have built up the number and health of the cells. Pitch it and worry about what to brew next.
