Filtering through hops when racking to keg?

My latest NEIPA finished fermenting - 13 days - and I racked it to my keg. I had done one dry hopping of 3 oz that i had left in the fermentor from day 2 to day 6, using a hop basket thing that removed. Being concerned about introducing O2 i skipped the second dry hop addition and instead...

Robobrew Question - what's the center pipe for?

I have a robobrew V3 and also a bit confused about this center pipe. But you have to remove the black cap from the top after you mash in. Then If the mash gets stuck on the bottom screen and the worst level rises, it will go down the middle tube (open) and not rise to the level to reach those...

    First Brewzilla Brew

Ive been brewing with the smaller RoboBrew 35L for a while and i too have occasionally had a slow sparge. As mentioned by MikeCo some rice hulls really help. I use these if i have a lot of flaked oats/wheat/barley in the recipe. Ive also heard that the finer screen at the bottom of the malt...

Dual RoboBrew HERMS idea. Feedback welcomed!

Hey fellow homebrewers: I’m working on an upgrade to my brewing set up, and would love some input and comments from any of you with some more experience than me in this area. My current set up is a RoboBrew V3 35L and SS Brewtech chronical 7 gallon. Ive made many batches over about a year with...

    Newbie Kegerator Build

Beautiful kegerator! You say thats a TRUE brand commercial cooler? Do have a model number? I made my own kegerator using a fairly cheap Danby and cut out a hole in the top to fit a pin lock corny and co2. But only fitting one corny sort of sucks. Im needing to upgrade to have 2 brews on tap.

    Gigawort as a Herms HLT

So I meant to include, as I rambled about my plan: maybe you should consider the RoboBrew as the HERMS HTL tank. Having one of these already, I can say that I am quite sure it will work. There will be no issue sealing the HERMS coil inlet and outlet. And the built in pump will work to keep...

    Gigawort as a Herms HLT

I’ve been considering a similar upgrade to my brewing set up. I currently have a RoboBrew V3 (110V) and I’ve been brewing in this for about a year. It works quite well, and I’ve been happy with it and I’ve been fermenting in an SS Brewtech chronical 7 gallon. So this set up has been OK for 5...

    Ice Cream maker Glycol chiller

Wow. That’s very impressive. Seems a bit more complicated than I would have thought with all those electronic parts and controls.

    Ice Cream maker Glycol chiller

Thanks for your reply videojunkie Well getting to 40C with peltiers in series seems pretty good! I was also considering a peltier chip route. Do you have the cold side block connected to the wall of your fermentor? That’s what I was considering. Or did you use the peltiers to chill a liquid...

    Ice Cream maker Glycol chiller

Well this is a very old thread but just found it because i was thinking the same about using a small ice cream maker as a glycol cooler. Im surprised not to find more posts about this idea. Maybe audger is right and it would be under powered. Im looking for a nice compact and inexpensive...

    Dry hopping technique, advice appreciated

So I’m thinking i should remove the first hop addition thats in my hop basket, but i dont like the idea of opening the top of my chronical - thats a lot of O2 exposure. Im on day 8 of a fermentation now. I think I,m going to leave the hop basket in and add some loose pellets through my air...

    Dry hopping technique, advice appreciated

Im using white labs Burlington Ale yeast. Ive used it for a couple batches and pleased with the results. When i put loose pellets into my fermenter i do find some coming through when racking to the keg. I have a small in line filter that im going to try on the next transfer to keep bits and...

    Dry hopping technique, advice appreciated

I’ve been making NEIPAs over that past few months, I use a RoboBrew and 7 gallon SS Brewtech Chronical. Results have been pretty good, but sometimes when I crack open one of my favorite commercial IPAs like a Single Cut, Frost Beer Works, etc) I feel a bit defeated because these beers are just...

Newbie question about alc content low, bubbling has stopped

Looking again at my fermenter, it is still slowly bubbling. Maybe my yeast just has some more work ahead of them.

Newbie question about alc content low, bubbling has stopped

The can of extract was 1.7 kg. it called for adding 1 kg of dextrose, and this recipe was for 6 gallons. I actually used slightly less than 1 kg of my spray malt extract because my fermenter only holds 5 gallons. So in total ive got 2.7 (almost) of extract for 5 gallons. Maybe i mis read my OG.
