So is kettle size limitations the only reason someone would do PM vs. AG using this method?

I'm going to try this soon. I asked this earlier but didn't get a response. For the first attempt at using this method, would you go with a recipe you know well (obviously doing PM instead of extract) or do you think it's easy enough that I could try a more complex recipe? I'm really interested...

I did the Vinnie recipe printed in Zymurgy. I did a 5 gallon batch but not the 8 gallon boil due to a small kettle. I get a ton of aroma in the first few weeks but it fades fast. Just like the original, this one should be enjoyed as fresh as possible.

Do you mean the date is January 2013 then? What you're talking about is 14 months not two. My experience with Pliny is to drink it within a month, and it's substantially better, IMO, within two weeks.

I figured it out. When I reattached the faucet to the tower the line inside the tower twisted and that kink caused a tiny leak (hence the hissing) and caused the foaming. I straightened it and it now pours perfectly, no hiss. Thanks to all who offered help. I'll also keep in mind not to use...

Yes, I've tried totally disconnecting the keg and the problem persists. I have also tried closing the screw and the pressure does go up although very slightly. I'm not sure what you are referring to embossed on the back of the regulator. Here's the back:

The replacement regulator arrived today and I'm having the same issues. With the valve (to the keg line) closed and the pressure screw opened up all the way, it still climbs to over 50 psi. If I open keg line valve it will drop down to 20 psi. That's better of course but still too much and the...
