Hey guys, I want to start kegging, and i already have a mini fridge but unfortunately the inside height it only 23 inches. Now i know most of you are already thinking i should just go on craigslist and get a new fridge, or maybe just keg in 3 gallon kegs. Id rather not do that. 3 gallon kegs...

Do i need a new kettle?

I got my new kettle today, and despite what the ad said about non-stick its just regular old aluminum thankfully. Can i still use my old kettle for things like heating up sparge water or is it pretty much useless in the realm of home brewing with that exposed steel?

Do i need a new kettle?

Hey guys, After brewing my first two extract batches ive noticed an off flavor in both and id like to try to get rid of it. I cant tell if its "extract twang" that people speak of or if its due to my brew kettle. Its a sort of metallic after taste that hangs on the back of the roof of...

    Ideal fermentation temperature.

She's a female, and a hater of the brew. I also might try the warm water bath idea if it becomes an issue, but i don't think it will. I set up a little space in my closet today that should work good. Im a little nervous ill have an explosion and soak my clothes though.. Now I'm just...

    Ideal fermentation temperature.

Alright, so I've decided I'm fermenting inside. I set my empty fermenting bucket in the garage last night and left it till this morning and the stick on thermometer is reading 39 deg. Now i know thats not the most scientific way but its still nowhere near the temps ill need. I looked at a...

Okay here is my situation. Im a college kid sharing a house with a two other people, and in an effort to try and be a good roommate i would love to have my beer ferment in the garage instead of the house. (one of my roommates isn't as excited about the whole homebrew thing as i am) My only...
