    Guess I don't feel so bad now. Thanks for the input....I will put the airlock on before snapping on the lid from now on....sounds like that is the solution! And Malkore, I am sure I can find a proper way of disposing it, but if I do need help you will be the first person I contact!

    I have not had a problem. I heated the end of the tubing in hot water, slipped it right on. Only problem is that it is so tight I cant get it off now!

    My first partial mash brew will happen tomorrow. One question - After I put the grains in the grain bag, how do you seal it? Just tie a knot at the top?

    I understand that. But if I pour the "dust" into the bag, won't it just fall out either on the counter or in the wort? I just want to make sure thats ok.
