Can't believe I forgot Urban Chestnut! Everything I've tried from them has been solid. Best lagers in town.

Visiting STL - Craft Breweries and To-Do

Near Brentwood I would have to recommend Schlafly's Bottleworks, in Maplewood. Forgot to mention Civil Life, Four Hands, Alpha Brewing Company, and Six Row as well. Lots of good beer around here. Just Google any of those and see what works for you. I hope you enjoy it!

Where in St. Louis are you staying? Schlafly, Kirkwood Station, Ferguson, Exit 6, and Trailhead are all good and in the area. If you will be spending most of your time downtown, Schlafly's Tap Room is a good choice. Also, Tigin Irish Pub is pretty decent within walking distance of the Edward...

    What Juniper Species?

Common juniper can grow well in your area, and won't get gigantic.

    What Juniper Species?

Where do you live? You could grow barley for malting (difficult) or roasting (easy) and oats for oatmeal stout. I live in Missouri, and since Eastern Redcedar (a juniper species) are native here that's what I'm growing.

    Gorilla Growing Hops?

Good point, but the OP doesn't control which dogs will be in the area. I love the guerrilla growing idea, I just wouldn't do it in a public park.

    Gorilla Growing Hops?

People bring their dogs to parks. Hops are toxic to dogs. You might want to dig them back up.
