    My Brew House Build

Plumbing sucks... And I have not even begun the copper yet. The valves I got from tf valves were supposed to be full port L 3 ways, but ended up being full port through with a groove L. They will work for anything post pump, but I dont want that restriction pre pump so I may need to order a...

    My Brew House Build

Here's a quick picture of my work. I didn't get to brew like I planned since I am working out some issues with plumbing layouts on the stand. I will try to get some more pictures up soon and get some evidence that my ugly work will still work!

    My Brew House Build

I have made a lot of progress, walls are up, floor is down, stand is welded, working on plumbing and valves for the stand currently. I have brewed a couple test batches that are fermenting away nicely. I am hoping to brew again this weekend if I can get my valvles set up and configured. I...

    Portable igloo cooler kegerator

Yessir, a little shaving on that ridge plus a little Vaseline or keg lube to slide it in should get those kegs to fit. It will be tight, but you wont have to worry about them sliding around at all :mug:

    My Brew House Build

Been pretty busy but have been building an hour here, an hour there... The floor and drain are in and I have been working on the wiring. While those are not technically the correct NEMA outlets for 2 hots and ground, but are the 2 hots + neutral dryer outlet, these were certainly easier to...

Yet another brewtroller build -but this one is mine

Thanks alien, i was looking at the thinner 2P contactors as well, but could not pass up the uxcell price... I think I have room for everything, if not my box is being custom made by a friend of mine, so until then I have a prototype box in the workings. With all the Chinese parts, I would like...

pelteir fermentation chamber/"back to the future" cooler

Very nice! I was pulling stuff together for a peltier cooled humidor made from an igloo but never finished. I like your product!

Doing some online searching while I have been laid up sick, it looks like these parts should work, but would like to double check with resident gurus: Quad relay board: http://www.uxcell.com/blue-srd12vdcslc-channel-12v-high-level-power-relay-module-board-p-234018.html Element contactor...

    mash PID settings

I don't know if this will actually help or not, but my Chem E friend gave me this advice once... "Focus on your P and I values, and always set D to 0. Anyone who sets D to anything other than 0 either has no clue what they are doing or know way too much to be applicable to the real world."

I was looking at that, but it just seemed to me another gadget when all I really need to do is turn the durn thing off if things go to hell :) With those more knowledgeable in using the brewtroller, if things stop working or you dont get the "heartbeat", if you have a relay wired as NO, will it...

Yet another brewtroller build -but this one is mine

Crazy idea, added level of complication, and waaaaaay over kill on design, but if we just stuck with basics I would still be doing stovetop extract with a 6gal "ale pail" bucket in the closet.... :D For the double batch day: Will probably not go this route, but a fun idea on paper. For...

PS - Thank you as always for your informed feedback. The MLT element will probably not be in my first iteration of my build, and if I like not having it, then it will never be added. As far as cleanup, I was planning on a tip dump setup for boil and MLT, and I have a mid pressure powerwasher...

Yet another brewtroller build -but this one is mine

Very rough schematic of element control: Did not draw neutral or ground lines to keep clutter down, of course they will all be connected. All switches will be on 12V DC from my DC power supply, extra relay for MLT element since that one will be manual most of the time for strike water...

Would this be a decent setup for the power into my control panel? or would running a NO E stop button in paralell with a couple 1Kohm Resistors to trip that 1A breaker be a more ideal setup. If what I have above is appropriate, it seems simplified to me and allows a keyed on/off to the...

Bending SS for a chiller ?

So which method did you use?

    My Brew House Build

Progress to date. Ran my conduit, but getting it under the wall trusses on the barns proved to be a real PITA. After about half an hour chipping away with garden hand tools I found an old garden claw in the back of the barn and gave it a shot: Using it like an auger worked like a charm...

    Control panel questions.

I have a friend possibly making a custom box for me. How far do most lights/switches/buzzers/whirleymagigs stick up from the panel surface? I'm looking so that I can get a door that would close over the panel and lock it all away tight.

Did some simplification, will do a cheap afgahnastanimation slideshow with process when I get a little more time. Basicaly removed a couple valves and water directly into MLT since I can switch some valves and get the same thing.

Jas! Good to hear from you! We will have to work out a time to come out and check out the new place when things get progressing! As far as the 60A thing, I am building right next to the 100A drop into the barn where the 60A breaker will be installed, then running 4AWG THHN the 10 or so feet...
