Can't get good late hopping/dry hopping results

I grind my hop pellets in an old school coffee grinder....The hops stay somewhat suspended, but if you give the carboy a bump once a day for a couple days you can watch the hop particles fall beautifully. Cover racking cane with a filter of choice, great hop flavor and aroma is sure to follow...

    Primary fermentation only...Question

Hmmm...Always get some chill haze, but in time turn crystal clear. I am kegging(and new to it, only 4 brews kegged so far) and force carbonate. I think I have been lucky with 1056 and will try another yeast next. I appreciate your help troubleshooting. I will leave this last brew in the keg for...

    Primary fermentation only...Question

2nd generation Wyeast 1056 American Ale. Keep in mind this is a yeast I have used many times before(I have never "washed" when re-using slurry) and always had beautiful clear beers when using secondary. I feel as though I must be missing something do to all the successes I have read about not...

    Primary fermentation only...Question

It was 1 month to the day in the primary, with 2nd generation yeast slurry. I do not yeast wash but again I had clear beers before so I don't see that being the issue. 1 month long enough?

    Primary fermentation only...Question

Agreed, but never had to before...Thought clarity would be the same as when I used a secondary. Just curious of other's experiences. Thanks for the resonse

    Primary fermentation only...Question

I have tried "primary fermentation only" and have seen great results in taste. However, I can't seem to get the clarity of my brews like I have in the past (with using a secondary). I carefully used my auto siphon and didn't seem to stir anything up. The carboy never fully cleared like I was...

What I did for beer today

Woke up at 5:00am on a Sunday to brew 2 10 gallon Batches. One was a toasted pale ale the other was a Royal ale, both great beers. Needless to say 20 gallons of beer in one day was time consuming but by the time I was all cleaned up I was done by 7:00pm. Also using blow-off tubes for the first...

    Primary fermentation only

Thanks for all the replies! It's not airtight because it is a 20gallon liquid sugar bucket with an improper lid resting on the top. Fly proof but I'm sure it's not airtight. Still good to go?

    Primary fermentation only

Thanks a bunch, all I needed. I am doing this primary only thing from posts I have read from you, so thanks again, looking forward to the results!

    Primary fermentation only

Hello all, I have been brewing all grain for about a year now with both successes and failures but always a good time. Love brew day! My question is(bare with me if this is a dumb question): I know that I don't HAVE to secondary, but can I primary only in a plastic bucket with a non-air...

    Primary Fementation

Thanks for the reply to my stupid question... I was just a little concerned about it not being in an air tight fermenter. I was not sure if I could be causing bacteria induction. Cheers

    Primary Fementation

Just wondering how long I can leave my wort in the primary fermenter if I am using a non-sealed bucket with a loosely covered lid(no blow-off). Thanks for reading my first post:)
