I use a PVC 90 on the inside screwed onto the valve threads to get almost every drop. The Rubbermaid Tote (food grade) has contours in the bottom which make it even easier because the PVC 90 ends up in the lowest spot of the tote.

My daughter helps me bottle. This idea came to me to make it more efficient with the 4 hands we have. It works great! I attach all 4 wands when she's helping and my 7.5 gallon batch is bottled in about 20 minutes. Faster if my son runs the capper.

I usually clean with oxyclean, but at the time i was in an unusually deep inebriated state and just used dishwasher detergent. I'm going to pitch it. Found a saison II strain I'm gonna try. Plus it gave me a reason to go to Quirkys, my LHBS.

I think I'm gonna trash this and start over. Hopefully it will be ready for Sunday.

I rinsed well, used a brush, then swirled some dishwasher soap water for a day.

It smells great; a little alcohol, some orange... Used starsan in everything... boiled the water...

This is whitelabs Belgian Wit. Threw it in the starter (1 cup DME and 1/4 tsp nutrients). This is 3 days later at 65 degrees F. Any ideas if this is still good?

Would salt water be better to freeze? Give me a lower melting temp?

Anyone ever tried a 2 gallon bucket, with a coil of tubing, filled with water and frozen with the ends out? I think I found my project for tomorrow...

I used my funnel and my fine mesh kitchen strainer. Worked great.

I'm trying something new (for me, anyway), I want to make a Porter that is a little hopped up and fermented with the White Labs San Francisco Lager yeast. It's attenuation sucks, 68%, so I was thinking og taking down the last 10 points or so with something like a kolsch yeast. Any ideas?

I checked more beer yesterday and they were not available. I got on the email waiting list. I checked today and they're available! I never received an email. i just checked, and they are currently available, FYI. I can't wait for mine to arrive.
