www.midwestsupplies.com just started a program where they ship very small packages by usps, which can keep shipping costs very low. you could pick up a few packets and maybe some hops or an airlock and still stay under the weight limit.

it's a 5 gallon brew in a better bottle. 15 oz. corn sugar, 17 oz. turbinado sugar, and the apple is musselman's cider, which was on sale that week for 2.97. it's still bubbling like crazy 9 days later at 68 degrees. i used pasteur champagne yeast because that's what i had on hand.

the reason they're called malt liquor instead of beer is that they are required to be labeled so by law if the OG (or maybe ABV) is above a certain level.

definitely use the unscented (oxiclean free). if the fragrance they use can withstand oxiclean, i wonder what could possibly be in it? i bought some fragranced stuff for my laundry and it made my SWMBO break out in hives, but i dip my hands in the free stuff all the time and never have any trouble.

i live in new orleans, and i just started brewing this july. i've been ordering everything online; i heard about a liquor store in slidell called the beer box that will order homebrew supplies if you get in contact with the owner, but i haven't had the chance to check it out.
