Any have a Ballast Point Pale Ale recipe?

Thanks that's some great info. From those recipes, it's like a basic pale ale grain bill, with some wheat added. The big differences would be the Hallertau type noble hops and not much of them. And the Kolsch yeast. Yea the Sculpin seems popular. I'll have to look for it in the one other...

Any have a Ballast Point Pale Ale recipe?

Kroger just started carrying this and I like it. Smooth and malty rich without heavy hops. I think I could learn from it when creating my own recipes. Anyone happen to have a clone? http://www.ballastpoint.com/beers/year-round/ "The beer that launched Ballast Point. Our original...

Edelmetall BRU Burner from Northern Brewer

I'm shopping for a burner and their price for the Bayou Classics are good, but they are out of stock. I guess there's more profit margin with this one and the dark star. Amazon has them though. For this burner, I didn't like the stamped areas the pot rests on. I'd pay more the Blichmann Top...

Junk floating in my commercial beer

I had to follow up because I just poured out a $1.50 beer because of chunks. I got to say the slime ball comment disgusted me away from this thread. I mean what's the point if homebrewer's standards are so low. I figure Davekippen is just teasing and making it sound a bit grosser than it...

Sight Glass vs Mounted Dip Stick in Brew Kettle

I'd like a way to accurately measure my pre and post boil volumes as well as what's left in the kettle. I read that sight glasses get gunky on a brew kettle and I can see that happening. Is that your experience with them? If I wanted to use a dip stick, but mount it to the inside of the...

Does anyone have a good way to fill a tall brew kettle in the sink?

Gallon pitcher? I could also see my undercounter kitchen sink give way from the weight.

    Best Online Vendor?

I liked my couple experiences with Ritebrew.com. They get the order in the mail quickly. Shipping is high but it's not hidden in cost of grain (their grain is super cheap). Shipping is really expensive these days. YOu're paying regardless of how the shipping is marketed. It looks like they...

Main drain and whirlpool pickup tube

If you're whirlpooling the wort after boil, is the exit the main drain or is there a separate drain for the whirlpool? I'm thinking it's the main drain. I think I'm seeing two ways of doing it on the inside. 1) A 90 elbow turned to the side with a 1/2" compression fitting with some 1/2"...

    Shipping wowzers

I'm in the same boat as you. No LHBS, no club, just mailorder. Shipping on Bulk grains is pretty high. It seemed like it'd take a lot of batches to make the grain mill pay for itself. I also want to experiment with different base grains to see which one I like the best. So at this time I...

    Natural Gas Quick Connect fittings

Yes I think that'll work. Comes out of my wall to a 90 down elbow and then the ball valve. I remove the ball valve. Add a nipple to the 90, then the T. Add a valve to each opening of the T. Add a quick connector to one of the T openings. Do I use the yellow teflon tape for the threads?
