Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I have to say how much I love the versatility of this recipe I nixed the Vienna from the original recipe and added in 2.5#'s Marris Otter....after primary I racked onto 1/2oz Galaxy pellet hops and the peels from 3 oranges. Fruity and delish! This is a new house beer! OG was 1.058 and finished...

    Reusing the trub

I haven't done it with a stout. But the last few beers I've brewed, I racked off the yeast and trub and kegged them. Then just put the lid back on the fermentation bucket for a week or so until I brewed again (I did put the bucket back into the freezer/cooler where I ferment to keep it at the...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Just racked my 3rd batch onto a 1/2 ounce of Galaxy and the peels from 3 oranges. The 2nd keg of this should pop in about a week so hopefully this should be ready by then!

Blow off Tube can't handle ferment.

This is a 6.5 gallon bucket with about 5.5 in. The last one I did on this yeast cake it was done in 2 days...went from 1.055 down to 1.006! I feel like this one is going to be about the same. Maybe next time I will try using just a portion of the yeast cake I guess.

Blow off Tube can't handle ferment.

This is my 3rd time making the same beer and pitching right on top of the same yeast cake (Notty). The 2nd time is was a pretty crazy fermentation but this time.....within the hour of me putting the bucket into the cooler it's already clogged the blow off tube 3 times and the bucket is swelling...

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

So I followed the link given to me above and I made the NY style dough..or better yet, attempted to make it. I followed the instructions to the letter and when I pulled the dough out of the food proc. it was a sticky mess. I spent the next 10 min or so adding flour to the table and kneading it...

    The Home Made Pizza Thread

I'm following along on this thread...I scrolled through some of the 100+ pages and it looks like people are referencing the dough more than anything but I didn't find any posts about how to make. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction? We do pizza night on the grill, no grill plate...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I brewed this on the 18th....The keg is almost kicked  I bought the ingredients to brew this one up again and thought I'd throw a slight variation in there....has anyone ever used Herkules hops? My LHBS tells me it should impart a slight strawberryish flavor, yet every search I do does not...

Why does all Samuel Adams Beer Taste Bad?

I'm with the OP. I have tried many times to like their beers but I just don't. They are very good at packaging! They've suckered me in quite a few times with their pretty labels and cool beer names, Only to have me dump out the other 5. I've battled with myself in the beer aisle many...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I brewed this up with a slight variation....I eliminated the Vienna and added 2.5 pounds of MO. I wanted to get a slight bit more malty flavor and I wanted to boost the ABV to around 5.5 to 6ish. All went well on Wed the 18th, OG of 1.055.....Now Monday the 23rd and it finished at 1.008. She...

    Wee Heavy Strong Scotch Ale

Looking for opinions please... I took a reading today and I think it's done fermenting...we are at 1.019 and I want to move to a secondary. Should I rack straight to keg and put some co2 on top and then let it sit in my serving fridge at 35 degrees for a couple of months? Or should I just rack...

    Disney area Must-go-tos

I 2nd Crooked Can in Winter Garden..It's right up the 429 from Disney. If your going to come as far from Disney as the Red Cypress in Winter Springs then you have to check out Hourglass brewery as well...both are about a 10 minute drive from my house. Also, Orlando Brewery is pretty cool too...I...

    Wee Heavy Strong Scotch Ale

I brewed this up on Wed and it was probably the best brew day I've had...I hit numbers and volumes perfectly! Not to mention I did my first decoction..I really can't believe how easy that is to do. I just scooped most of the grains out and added them back to the kettle and brought to a boil...

First time on a yeast cake! In the fridge for over 5 days.

I plan on doing this this weekend with my Vienna Lager, figure I'll keg whats in there now and just leave the cake and drop the new wort right on top of it.
