American Pale Ale Coldwater 420 - Special Pale Ale

Despite doughing in a little hot resulting in more unfermentable sugars than I wanted, this turned out great. Mine came out darker than the original Sweetwater, but the maltiness is definitely there (which is the main quality that I was going for) and very well balanced just like Sweetwater...

    Troubleshooting Wedding Mead

I guess another question is the level of toast for the oak: light, medium, or heavy toasted? What different flavors will the different levels impart?

    Troubleshooting Wedding Mead

Perfect, thanks! I'd heard of the marble trick but wasn't sure of how many oak chips to use. That answers all of my questions, thanks!

    Troubleshooting Wedding Mead

Any input on this would be great: Anyone have any idea how long and how many toasted oak chips/sticks to give a good flavor without overpowering the mead? I have some mini 2L oak kegs that I use for small batches of mead and I like the vanilla/toffee/whiskey notes that it imparts on the mead...

American Pale Ale Coldwater 420 - Special Pale Ale

I have 6 gallons of this kegged up (little over a week ago) and waiting for a taste test...can't wait. It came in a little low in OG (wasn't quite sure of my AG efficiency) and I think I let the mash get a little too hot (~158) so it was a little less attenuable and it finished off with a FG of...

    Troubleshooting Wedding Mead

Okay thanks, I wasn't sure if the stabilizer would have precipitated out or not after a few months. I'll go the route of making up a batch of dry mead and combining the two, since I was a bit worried about having enough mead anyways...10 gallons should be more than enough. Anyone have any idea...

    Troubleshooting Wedding Mead

There's no way I can repitch yeast after I added the stabilizer and clarifier pack?

    2 Keg kits

Thanks! I just checked out Birdman Brewing and they have a comparable system for $240 including the kegs and CO2 tank, but the only thing they didn't have was the dual regulator setup, so I wouldn't be able to keg and force carb or have two beers at different pressures...which may or may not be...

    2 Keg kits

Yes I believe they are both reconditioned kegs. The new kegs I saw on kegconnection were about twice the price of these ones. As for the CO2 tank, it would be a shame to have to trade in a new one for an old banged up one, but frankly I wouldn't care too much as long as exchange places...

    2 Keg kits

Hey everyone, I'm in the process of building my keezer and looking for a 2-keg starter setup since I have nothing yet for kegging. I have narrowed it down to two sources: kegconnection.com and midwestsupplies.com . I'm looking at the ball-lock keg kits with party taps (until I eventually buy...

    Keezer Size

Well I got the keezer, but ran into some problems. The refrigerated space is too short for a corny keg (~23") because instead of having a compressor hump, the entire bottom is a flat floor and there is a bunch of wasted space as a result. But it was only $50. I know I can always build a...

    Keezer Size

Thanks Sean. I have a feeling that I will probably be following in your footsteps and upgrading the size later on down the road, but it should do the job for now, and $50 is too good of a deal to pass up as long as it works, which I will obviously verify before purchasing. I guess we'll see...

    Keezer Size

Hey everyone, I have a bead on a chest freezer that is in pretty good condition for only $50 but I'm not sure if it's too small and I don't have the cu ft measurements. The outside dimensions are 26" deep by 37" wide by 35" tall. Is this big enough for two (maybe three) corny kegs? I...
