Whats the Weirdest Flavor (or Ingredient) you have brewed with

Just for a bit of fun. What is the strangest beer you have made? I'll go first. I actually brewed a Wasabi Stout a few years ago. Honestly it was actually pretty good. Don't know if i could drink more than one at a time but considering this could have been awful I'm counting it as a success

    Boiling water to sanitize

I think this will work but want others to check me if this is not a great idea because if something I’m not seeing. just got a ss brew tech 14 gallon unitank. And thinking of an easy way to sanitize it. Was thinking before I brew put 5-6 galling of water in my boil kettle. Get that to a boil...

    Fresh pressed vs store Juice

I have made cider a few times with store juice. All of those fermentations were steady and slow with little to no Krausen. Over the weekend my brew club pressed about 35 gallons of fresh cider. The fresh cider is going crazy in my fermenter. I literally had a cider volcano last night after...

    Yeast Charts

I started a thread a couple of weeks ago with a link to the Yeast charts I use to compare yeast strains. I primarily use White Labs so those are the charts I posted. There was a huge response and at last count the White Labs charts have been downloaded over 1000 times. I was also asked to...

Bottled and tasted my Blond (smoked malt question)

It is a pretty unique blond with flaked oats and smoked malt... It is still green but i think its going to be pretty good. Interestingly enough the smoked malt gave it a hint of Bourbon flavor that I was not expecting. This was my first time using smoked malt so was wondering if this is...

    New Sabco 7.75g Fermenter

I really like the idea of doing some partial Pressure fermenting.... and in looking around it seemed like I had 2 options (for somewhat reasonable cost) ether a Brewhemoth or sabco's 1/2bbl fermenter.... the problem is I want to do 10-15g split batches so I don't need nearly anything that big...

Single Heat Exchanger for Heat and cooling

I am in the middle of designing my new brewery. I am sizing everything to be able to do 15 gallon batches. I like the idea of a HERMES setup but Having a dedicated HERMES for heating the mash and a separate wort chiller seems redundant to me, they are both heat exchangers just using different...
