    Primary fermentation?

    Would it be ok to primary ferment a 5gallon batch in a 5gallon glass carboy or should i use the carboy strictly for secondary. I already use a 6.5 plastic but i got two 5gallon carboys for free!!! Hell yeah!!!:mug:

    Priming sugar?

    So i just boiled my 2/3 cup of sugar in 2 cups of water and it says to let it cool. Do i need it to be at room temp or what? How cool?:mug:

    you guys need to remember than i forgot to take my OG reading, the OG reading is from hopville that im using based on ingerdients. My actual OG may have been much lower im guessing

    So the % alcohol is really going to be that high? Yikes, Like i said it tadtes pretty good. So should i wait the full 2 weeks or do you think im ready to bottle?

    Thats what it said on hopville, projected 11.6 %, maybee i am reading my hydrometer wrong but when its floating at the 1.020 the projected alcohol is at 2.5%

    i forgot to take an OG, its an extract batch 1/2 liquid 1/2 dry. I went onto hopville nad put in all my ingerdients and and projected the OG at 1.120 and a FG of 1.033. tastes ok

    First time homebrewer!

    Thanks for the input. The problem is that i dont know what FG should be. Plus i dont have a secondary fermenter. My kit came with the food grade primary fermenter and a second bucket with a spigot that they say is for bottleing. Can i use taht as a secondary?
