    Fruit Beer Wild Strawberry Blonde

I used the "search this thread" option before asking the question but didn't see it. Anyone try this with all cascade? I currently have a lot of it on hand. Do you think it's worth picking up some Saaz?

Bottle bomb: options? + safety question

+1 to the rubbermaid container. I've only had bottles explode once and I was glad I had them in one. All of my bottles go into the "blast chamber" until they are refrigerated. :)

    Copper coil

Maybe I'm thinking of brass?? Or maybe the person I heard it from didn't know what they were talking about. :)

    Copper coil

This. I've read that starsan dissolves copper. If you're using starsan on your chiller that would probably account for a metallic taste.

    Carboys Glass vs Plastic

Not really, search the forum a bit. You'll find multiple reports of ER visits due to glass carboys.

    brewing from morebeer kit

Won't really effect flavor, once the boil is over the hops have done their job. You do need to oxygenate the wort but if your carboy is glass I would not recommend shaking it. It's heavy and if you slip you could end up with a mess and lots of broken glass. There are plenty of stories on...

    brewing from morebeer kit

Either way is fine. I used to leave the hops and everything in, now I strain them out. It's up to you. Edit: If you're going into a carboy and not a bucket it may be easier to leave it out (if your using a siphon or a funnel)

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

The batch I just bottled sat for 5 weeks. The sample I tasted when bottling was great!

Will my auto-siphon troubles oxidize my beer?

I take a pair of scissors and cut about a half inch slit in the end of the tubing, makes it much easier to get on and off. (I know I'm reviving a very old thread but tonight I had to use a hose that was too large for my auto siphon and had bubbles, so I was searching the forums to see how big...

Estimating BB volume with a tape measure

I wanted to be able to estimate how much beer was in my BB so I know how much priming sugar to mix up. I know I could transfer to the bottling bucket first and then add the sugar - but I don't like the idea of stirring. I filled my spare BB with water 1 gallon at a time, and the measured...

what to do with cleaning and sani water?

I have been using the same starsan for 6 months, just get some ph strips and test it before each use. You also may want to check to make sure your drain pipes aren't copper (like mine are), starsan dissolves copper.

    best method to check gravity

I usually drink my samples, but I have also put them back, either way is fine if you've sanitized.
