Maiden Voyage of my 3 Tier Stand

Warmer weather would be real nice right about now. I love Indy in the spring and fall. Winters do suck here.

Maiden Voyage of my 3 Tier Stand

Good eye on the S&S Monument. I took the pic from my office. I wish I could hard line my set up but the water here in indy sucks for all grain. It took me months to figure out the bitter taste in my all grain brews came from the water. Ive lived in Indy all my life, what side of town did you...

Nice build. I like the waterline up the center. What did you build the frame out of?

    Blow off question

Sunday I brewed a Tripple, dropped it in a 6 gallon carboy, I checked it when I got home and it was chugging away as it should be. I walked by it about 2 hours later and just happened to look over and found kreusen spewing out of my air-lock. I had never had a blow off and Im sure I narrowly...

    "F4 Self-fusing Silicone Tape"

That stuff rocks. I had to use it once to tape my spark plug wire and cap back together and not only did it work it lasted 3 months till I could order some custom wires. " it was an old Porsche so I couldn't just run to a box store and buy a set".

Building simple electric system – manual control with pwm, gravity fed (no pumps)

"2.) The PID would be replaced with a PWM like this one: with the C1 replaced by 2.2uF capacitor as done by many on this site. I would use a 12VDC wall wort or equivalent to provide input power." I am looking into building a system very similar in simplicity. Can you explain more on the C1 -...

    E-Noob mypin TA4 PID Question

Thanks for all the responses. it does make sense on dialing back the intensity of the element. Luckily I have not bought it yet, so no loss. I still have so much to learn about this electric setup.

    E-Noob mypin TA4 PID Question

I am moving to a simple all electric set up "if that's possible", and found the mypin ta4 for $18. I have found a few posts on the pid saying it cant be used in a BK because it does not have a manual mode. Can someone please explain this to me. I was under the assumption that if the boil gets...

    Orage peel too bitter

No I used dried orange peel. I've done this brew before only using extracts and rock sugar with some grain. This time I did an all grain and it really brought out the orange.

    Orage peel too bitter

I just keged my triple with coriander and orange peel. I have found the orange peel this time is very prevalent and made the beer a bit bitter. Is there anything I can do at this point or should I just drink it and be happy?
