    First cider question

Thanks for the calculator, so utilizing that information, if I want things medium carbed, I am looking at 1.75-2.00 oz. of corn sugar with my temp and volume. Would the corn sugar ferment out like it does in beer, or does it go further in the fermentation process and put undo pressure on the...

    First cider question

So, I made a Mangrove Jack pear cider last weekend the 16th. I have read about back sweetening and pasteurizing on the stove. So, in this kit they have non-fermentable sugar that is supposed to automatically back sweeten when the fermentation happens to avoid uber dryness. So waiting until it...

I am sure someone has had the one off problem of a temp probe going bad and leaving the freezer on wide...

My shamelessly cheap $12 DIY stir plate

I used the computer fan, a cigar box, and magnets from an old hard drive. I like the variable speed control (in the upper right of the closed box).

How long to age an "ale"?

What type of ale? It could benefit from aging as little as 3 weeks. Or might need a few months to come together. A basic ale will be good in a couple weeks.
