    First time doing cider.

    I purchased farm fresh cider at the orchard today, my home brew store sold me campden tabs, after putting them in, do I keep it in the refrigerator or leave them at room temp for the 24 hrs?? I could not find a straight answer online. Thanks for the help!!

    Fermintation temps.

    It seems to me that every time I brew the thermometers on my bucket seem to say that my brew is 4 or so degrees higher than ambient temp in my house. Does fermentation cause temp to rise in the bucket or are the thermometers wrong? Or maybe I'm crazy?

    First belgian double

    This weekend I am doing a belgian double, does anyone have any pointers, and should I do a secondary fermenter? The final gravity of my kit is 1.067, if that helps any. Thanks!

    Fermintation temps, in warm months

    My question is due to living in the south and getting warm early, most from what I have seen ales ferment up to 70 to 72 degrees at the most. I keep my fermenter in my house in the a/c but my house sits at 74. With out turning up my a/c how do I keep my brew cool enough or is a few degrees not...

    After final gravity is acheived......

    My question is, once the final gravity has been achieved, is there any added benefit to keeping it in the fermenter for another few days or a week? Thanks.

    Off flavor question

    I brewed a batch of blond ale from a can added a extra lb of light dme and had a starting gravity of 1.065. I fermented it for a week till my gravity was at 1.010. I bottled it and waited two weeks, i noticed that it had a noticeable cidery taste what could have gone wrong? Thank for the input!

    Wit beer recipe alteration.

    Bought a Belgian wit extract with specialty gains kit, I want to add lemon grass, the kit came with bitter orange, coriander, and cumin. (not so sure about the cumin). But should a not add the cumin, and just the lemon grass and when should I add it to the boil? Thanks for the help!

    Second fermenter. Newbie question.

    Mold in bottles

    Maybe a dumb question, but I saved some bottles that had commercial beer in them, well I thought I rinsed them out, but when I checked them they had mold in the bottoms of them. If I use a oxygen based cleaner with hot water and then a sanitizer can I still use them? Thanks

    Distilled water

    I just did my first batch of home brew, and I was trying to be very sanitary so I decided to use distilled water. I just bottled that batch and then discovered that I should not use distilled water. How is this going to affect my batch ?
