    Pissed Off/Venting

99.999% fatal if untreated. There was a girl a few years ago that managed to recover even after being untreated. But yeah. On the other hand, it's a freaking 10 lb dog. The owner was standing *right there*. She just sounds like a *****. But yeah, don't let your dog out unless it's...

    Pissed Off/Venting

not entirely true. I've heard of mail carriers refusing to deliver to an entire *street* because they were afraid of 1 dog.

    what am I doing wrong?

How are you cleaning the bottles? Are you just rinsing really well and then sanitizing (works if you rinse as soon as you use the bottle)? Or are you washing them with soap of some kind? What color are the bottles? Etc etc...

anybody play WOW? (world of warcraft)

No no, that's completely possible. When I quit, I thought about selling my character lvl 70, pretty nicely geared healer type. I figured I could get at least $500 for him, if not more.

anybody play WOW? (world of warcraft)

I used to play WoW. Got to level 70 and got really bored with the raids.

    Apfelwein question

Ascorbic Acid is definitely ok. I made a batch with 5 gallons of motts apple juice (had ascorbic acid) and wheat yeast. Turned out really tasty.

First time with liquid Activator Yeast question

Your probably ok. The yeast will just have to divide up to the right number (which just means it'll take longer). The smack pack things can suck. I've discovered that, on top of smacking the hell out of it, it's also best to try and break the nutrient seal when the pack is deflated (i.e...

    Too sweet?

Using a starter could help. Making sure the temperature stays pretty constant is good. Also, I tend to like to ferment near the top range of the yeast (never above 70 degrees, but 68 or 69). The (slightly) warmer temperature means slightly more active yeast. The other thing you could do...

    Noob question - carbonation

Yeah, don't open 'em and give em more time. Though I will say that all my beers have carbonated just dandily after about 5 days, I don't use the carb drops.

    New to this

Let it go a week (at least) in secondary, then take another reading. If at that point the hydrometer still reads the same, you're probably ok to bottle. Make sure though, when reading the hydrometer, that there aren't many bubbles or anything on the sides of it. It's possible to have a...

First brew - think I've messed it up!

    Yeah, it'll likely be ok.

To Secondary or Not To Secondary That is the Question

I think your bucket with a spigot is a bottling bucket. You should ferment in the NON spigot bucket. Then, on bottling day, mix 3/4 cup of corn sugar (dextrose) in some water, boil it, and let it cool. When cool, add this mixture to your bottling bucket (sanitized, of course). Then...

    Xbox 360

Really, because I've basically heard that the majority of the failures, and the reason MS is gonna lose over a billion on the warranty change, are 3 rings of death. Also, hadn't heard the restriction on 3 rings of death (and the place I've heard about it is from Penny Arcade, whom I'd assume...

Engagement Rings-how much did it set you back?

Define "hurt". You can find "amateur" photographers for about $500.00. You won't get the album, but you get all the pictures, can buy the wedding album and put it together yourselves. The best part is, since you interview them, and look at their work before you hire them, you'll be able to...

Engagement Rings-how much did it set you back?

Seriously, engagement rings should be "what you can afford now" or "wait to buy". If she loves you, she'll understand that you still spent a good chunk of your available cash on her. Try really really hard not to go into debt for it (though marriage could be considered a form of debt...j/k).

Engagement Rings-how much did it set you back?

Oh yeah, that's definitely the way to go. The food and drinks can add up FAST though.

Engagement Rings-how much did it set you back?

Err, a little more than $4k. If yer flipping out about the price of the ring, just wait till you see how much the wedding will cost.

    Hello from Wisconsin

sunday at 3? I'd need to talk to the wife. I think she wanted to go out on Sunday and see a movie. Not sure what time though.

    Hello from Wisconsin

Yeah, I'd be up for something. Unfortunately, with AG I'd be a complete noob. I understand the process, mind you, but have no gear or anything. About the best I could offer, besides labor, would be to bring some of my extract brews with me. Yeah, we should all get together at a pub...
