I think your fine, usually with IPA's fermenting for 7-10days before secondary is normal but allow at least the same time for the secondary (7-10days). Leave in the Bottle for at least 3 weeks thou. Hope it turns out good...

Personally I have never NOT used a secondary. I have a problem with my great smelling Beer sitting on the settle "junk" at the bottom of my Carboy. I also completely support the off flavors being noticed even if others cant, I just dont want to chance 5 gallons. No wrong way to do it, just try...

Ive read a couple of books that say NOT to use plastic and only Glass, thats why I was hoping people have used both got the same result as me..

I dont change the temp at all from primary to secondary, my first "beer Kit" in 2009 said to transfer to the secondary. After you see what drops to the bottom in the secondary just after a week its hard not to do it on any other HomeBrew in my opinion. Ive never done a cold crash thou.

I secondary every beer for the "clear factor" only, next time try it and compare the difference cause you"ll be surprised...
