    Keezer vs Kegerator

Came here to say the same thing. I get two regular size cornies in my Danby mini fridge. I have a two-tap tower on the top and it all fits neatly behind my bar, out of the view of anyone that might come into our basement, if I want to hide it.

New "How to" Videos on the website and need some feedback

I was thinking the same thing about the scrolling text, but it went by too fast for me to really be bothered by it. I guess if you want it to be useful, it would be more effective if it was slowed down, or even stopped.

New "How to" Videos on the website and need some feedback

Sound and video quality were great. You spoke very well, very clear and were very easy to understand. My only complaint was that you brew by a pool, and that makes me jealous, because I'm often standing on a brick patio in the heat, with no pool! If I had a keggle and needed to install a...

    New to kegging

That's essentially the same setup I have, except I threw a two-tap tower on top of a Danby minifridge and turned it into a kegerator. The dual pressure regulator is clutch. Being able to quick-carb a keg while having another at serving pressure is really nice.

    Advice needed / new kegger

Farmhouse Brewing Supplies currently has the best deal I've found on chrome Perlicks. They're pretty active here, too. As for what else you'll need? If the only equipment you have now is what you've listed, you'll probably want to pick up the following: Some way to chill the beer Keg...

    Safbrew W-06

Isn't SafBrew WB-06 a true belgian strain of yeast? Probably be better in a Witbier, if that's the case, considering a Wit is more of a belgian beer than hefes. Ultimately, though, it's whatever you feel like making. Homebrewing is just one big experiment anyway, right?

If you're curious as to your pressure, TastyBrew.com has a pretty decent keg carbing calculator - http://www.tastybrew.com/calculators/carbonation.html

    Nightmare of a Brew Day

In the upper 80's on top, upper 70's near the bottom. I pitched, then immediately moved it to my mid-60's basement, so I'm not too concerned about it (It was a lot of yeast, too) but it still just didn't add to my confidence.

    Nightmare of a Brew Day

Just felt like I needed to share my nightmare of a brew day yesterday. On a whim (and because I hadn' t brewed in ages) I picked up a Honey Ale kit from Midwest Supplies. I wanted to get a beer into a fermentor because all I've got is an Apfelwein fermenting, and my kegs are quickly becoming...

    Taste before bottling?

I was never more excited to say something tasted like "Warm, flat beer" than after pulling a gravity sample from my very first brew.

I think I racked too soon....

Worse comes to worst, you're just going to have to chew your first couple of sips. The goods news about home brewing is that 99% of what you're going to get in your first few pours is consumable, so you don't have to throw it out if you don't want to waste it! My guess is you'll be fine and...

    Getting started kegging...

Worse comes to worst, you can always just store it in a regular fridge and use party taps until you've got the fridge converted. I guess the limitation to this would be a lack of fridge space once you've stored the kegs, but maybe you can get a cheap full size fridge on CL or something?

Cheap and inexpensive fermentation cooling techniques?

I use one of these coolers filled with water. I cycle ice packs in and out about once a day (the cooler really helps maintain temperature). Fits a bucket or carboy quite nicely, and doesn't require a ton of water. We also had one of them sitting around and were not using it, so the price was...

    Buying cheap drip trays...

Amazon has this smoker box with eligible prime shipping (if you're in a hurry) which looks like the original one posted in this thread. I might pick it up. I've got a two-tap tower and need a lower profile drip tray. I was using two PVC drains stuck on PVC end caps, but they sit really high...
