Idaho 4# CO2 tank and 10 Gallon Igloo Cooler

I am selling a 10 gallon igloo cooler. i have used it for many mashes and routinely achieved 75-81% efficiency. It has been a great mash tun. I have upgraded to a bigger system and no longer need it. I am hoping to get $50. I am also selling my 4# CO2 tank as I have also upgraded to a larger...

Corona Grain Mill-- Great for beginner brewers

My typical brews have now gotten way to large to try and hand mill all my grain with this mill. Just google Victoria grain mill or corona grain mill (I don't have a photo right now). Hand crank mill. I was using this mill to crush small grain bills and my speciality grains when I started with...

No Sign of Fermentation: two days post pitch

I have been brewing for a couple of years now and have brewed many batches. I always use Wyeast smack packs and most of the time I make starters, but for a long time, I never made them. I just brewed a Kolsch on Friday and I didn't make a starter for this beer. It was a low gravity beer...

    Belgian Strong Ale-bottling

Hey folks I am about to bottle a belgian strong ale that has been sitting since late January. 1- is there going to be enough yeast to carb this beer in bottles? 2- I know people like to bottle this style in cork bottles or thick glass champagne bottles but I just want to bottle in standard 12...

    Stuck Fermentation... I think

I brewed a big barley wine yesterday. I harvested a lot of wyeast 1056 from previous batches and had been saving the yeast for this massive beer. I made a starter 3 days before I pitched the yeast. This morning when I woke up, one of my carboys was already at high krausen while the other carboy...

Bottling Belgian Strong Ale- 2 months later

I brewed a Belgian strong ale two months ago and will be bottling it next week. It has been sitting in primary on the yeast cake for the whole time and for the past month and a half it has been sitting at 56 degrees. I used wyeast 1388. Is there going to be enough yeast still in suspension...

Manifold for coleman cooler mash tun

So I just fashioned myself a cooler mash tun and I made a manifold on the bottom with some PVC piping that I drilled small holes into. I had issues with the piping getting clogged during the sparge and even during the transfer of wort to the kettle. I had the manifold with the holes facing up...

    Water

I just listened to the brewstrong episodes regarding water and I have become a little concerned with my water choices. If you had to chose distilled or spring water for ales and lagers what would you go with?

I'm about to serve my first keg of many to come. I carbed at 25psi and I was wondering if I burp the keg of that co2 and then re set to serving psi.

    Kegging beer to drive home

I brewed some beer away from home with some friends during the holidays and now I am getting ready to head back. Is it alright to put my beer into kegs, hit with 30psi and expect the beer to carbonate a little bit as I drive home. I don't plan to leave the gas connected in the car. I just...

    transporting beer in keg

So I want to get some beer back to school with me. I've brewed it and it's in secondary right now. I've got a 14 hour drive. Is it possible to put it in a keg with a little gas and it will be fine once I get it in the keezer under the right psi?

Ball Valve on a brew kettle?

How vital is it to have a ball valve on a brew kettle? I am thinking about getting a 10gallon kettle to start AG brewing in. It is obviously way more expensive to get a kettle with a valve and if I can save the money it would be great. To ball valve or not to ball valve... that is the question.

    Equalizing Pressure in Keg system

I am about to put some beer into kegs for the first time. I was listening to an old Brewing Network Sunday Session about kegging and I got a little worried. I understand that I should have my beer lines a certain diameter and a certain length and everything should be eaul, but I am worried...

    Hops into carboy

So recently I have been having a lot of my hop pellets from the boil go into my carboys when I begin primary fermentation. I notice a lot of hops settling out into the bottom of the carboy along with the yeast. Is this bad?
