    slanting yeast into beer bottles.

I have been thinking about making a big starter and slanting the yeast off into about 6 or more bottles. These bottles would be sanitized like normal. And then throwing the bottles into the fridge. I was wondering how this sounds in regards to sanitation.

what efficiency do you get and what do use to get it?

Just thought this could be a fun way to brag and teach newer brewers myself included how to get the most out of their grain. And to see the differences in different systems. I have a 10 gallon mash tun and use local homebrew shop grain crushed. I hybrid fly sparge and usually get around 55 to 65...

I racked an imperial stout onto a porter American ale2 yeast cake. O.G. 1.078. I am doing primary only. I was wondering what is the shortest time I can bottle in. I usually let my beers go 2 weeks and then I bottle and i want to do this and probably will. I never take gravity readings until I...

i mashed at 165 does this affect efficiency

I recently found out that my temperature gauge was out of calibration and it was out of calibration by 15 degrees and I have been mashing my beers at that temperature now. Obviously my final gravity's are very high but I was wondering if this temperature would also be affecting my original...

    too much hops?

Did a 10 gallon batch with a pound and a half of hops. 7 gallon boil. Pitched yeast 48 hours ago no signs of fermentation. First time yeast has taken this long to start. Does the amount of hops u use affect the ability of yeast to get started.

    sugar brewer hate

Why is it so bad to brew with corn sugar. I've been adding a pound to almost all the brews to bump up the alcohol. I use as much grain as I can in my mash tun 13# and I just always want my brews bigger and it seems like corn sugar is much more cost effective than malt extract.

how long to age a "bigger" beer

So I was just wondering what the shortest turnaround time is for a beer of 1.065 or greater. I have been going two weeks in primary then bottling and waiting two weeks with good results for beers around 1.050.
