    what will brown sugar or molasses do to this?

    just ordered my ingredients for my Russian Imperial Stout. I want a complex brew that will take my taste buds on a huge journey, so i'd like to add everything up to the kitchen sink.... in that vain, i'm wondering what a few things will add to my beer....recipe: 1.25# english brown malt...

    To Clone Or Not To Clone???

    i'm kinda curious whether or not most people when starting out clone some brews they dig, getting a better feel for the process and then move on to creating recipes that are mostly your own or did you just jump in feet first? gator

    describe "cloying" please

    this has probably been beaten to death but could someone describe a "cloying" taste? my first batch has been in secondary for several weeks now and i tried some of it last night, along w/ checking a hydrometer reading. it has this weird taste that i can't figure out....there's almost NO hops...

    "starter" when using liquid yeast

    increasing alcohol content a bit and help w/ bittering

    been reading about IBU's and am a bit concerned.... i'm brewing an american ale tonight using 2 oz nugget for bittering x 60 min.....1 oz cascade x 15 min and another oz for the last 10. tastybrew has my ibu's set at 118...........ahh, should i cut back a bit on these hops??? just...
