    Raspberry liquid left over Q...

Hi Folks, i just finished brewing a Chocolate Raspberry Stout from AHBS and only used half of the Raspberry flavoring per several people's advice. Now that I have it left over, I'd like to do a Raspberry wheat. Any suggestions on a good extract wheat beer kit to use? Anything else you...

A nice wireless thermometer for the Kegerator or Keezer.

I use this in my RV refrigerator and now use it in my kegerator. Will monitor freezer and fridge and sound an alarm if the temperature changes by your preset thresholds. Thought y'all would find it interesting. Click on the amazon link to view. Cheers! :mug: jfire...

    Uh Oh!

After one week in the fermenter bucket, my Caribou Slobber first batch had stopped bubbling and Sg had dropped to 1.038 and was steady. I just racked it to a 5 gallon glass carboy and tested the sg again WITHOUT SANITIZING the Winethief!!! I've been very good at sanitizing everything and now I'm...

5 Gal. Water jug from Wal Mart Stopper Size?

I know a #10 stopper will work but does anyone know if I can get that at Lowe's or Home Depot? Which ones work from there? I plan on using it as a secondary carboy for a couple of weeks. I know about the BPA thing. Searching only tells me that a #10 stopper will work but HD and Lowe's don't...

    First Boil Success (maybe).

I did my first full 5.5 gallon boil last night and things went great. From reading here, I was able to watch for and prevent any boil overs! After everything was said & done I went to pitch my yeast, which I THOUGHT I had smacked about 4 hours earlier and found that one of the nutrient pouches...

    Extract kits question

Most extract kits say do a 2.5 gallon boil then add to 3 gallons cold water in primary. I have a 30qt turkey fryer and wanted to do a full 5.5 gallon "Caribou Slobber" boil. Will I screw anything up? I know to watch for boil over. Thanks again! jfire

1st Brewday this weekend, but I'm already thinking ahead to the next brewday.

Looks like I'm taking the plunge this Saturday with my first brew of "Caribou Slobber", which I plan on kegging. I would really like to start next weekend off with a Chocolate Raspberry stout seen here http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?cPath=178_452_42_159&products_id=11253...

Ordered extract kit, not quite ready to brew. A couple of Q's.

My first extract kit, the "Caribou Slobber" arrives Friday, but I'm still about a week away from brew day. A couple of Q's... 1. What should I put in the fridge until then? I got the liquid yeast. Do I need to refrigerate the syrup? 2. I'm going for the full 5 gallon boil, and the...

    Homebrew equipment kit recs.

I'm having a hard time fining a good kit out there. I don't want to bottle, but most kits include bottling hardware. I want to go straight to kegging. I'd also like to have a glass carboy secondary, and a primary with a spigot. Any suggestions? Thanks, jfire

    First Brew Recommendations

Hi Folks! I'm getting set up for homebrewing and I'm starting to collect my equipment. I plan on kegging my beer. What would be a good, easy first beer to brew? I really like dark lagers and stouts but I understand they are a little harder to do that a simple ale. I like the sweeter beers such...
