    Mash Temperature and Mash out

    On all-grain brewing is the temperature based on the grain bed or the wort? If the grain bed temp drops the wort temp will be much higher to get the mash temp back. Does that cause off-flavors? With a mash out at 168 is that the grain bed temp or the wort temp?

    Looks like a white dust after I dry hopped

    I am brewing an English Pale Ale. Nine days after I racked the brew I dry hopped it. I soaked the hop bag in a warm mix of beer brite and dropped the hops in after the bag cooled.     Fermentation still active after 4 weeks

    I am brewing an ALT Beer(German Brown) kit with liquid yeast. After the first week of fermintation I racked the beer into a second carboy and it is still active with bubbles(about 6 min apart) in the airlock after three weeks for a total of four weeks. Hope this is going to be a good batch...
