    Burner from Hell! Empirical data!

I have forgot for how long and how many batches I've brewed. I've gone full circle from extract to all grain and back to extract SMaSH recipes. I did all that with a crappy turkey fryer burner until now. I'm putting this in the newbie section so hopefully you don't waste as much time as I did...

    Immersion chiller... I'm in love!

My first two batches I used an ice bath to cool things off quickly. What a frickin' pain. I made my own chiller with 20 feet of 3/8 copper connecting to the water hose. Went from boiling to 90 degrees in 7 minutes and 70 in 12. I stirred frequently. Best 30 bucks I've spent. Use it once and...

    FYI... DON'T Drink and Brew

It's self explanatory... I'm sure it will turn out fine! Spaten Optimator is a bad thing when you need all your facilities. :):):):D:D:D

    I'm pouring 10 gallons out...

... one bottle at a time right into my ice cold beer mug and drinking every last drop! Gottcha! One's a Texas bock and the other a Fat Tire amber ale clone. Both are as good if not better than anything I've ever bought. There's nothing like drinking crystal clear brew with exceptional flavor...

What is it??? Ale? Lager? ???

VIDEO AND QUESTION DIRECTED TO BEGINNING BREWERS ONLY. PLEASE READ THE PREMISE AND QUESTION CAREFULLY. The short video is from an angle at the bottom of the carboy looking up slightly. Is it a lager... ale... or can you even tell??? I raise that question because ales generally thought...

    Can I bottle now?

I've had my bock in a secondary @ 38 degrees for 3 weeks now. The AHS Texas Bock recipe calls for 3-4 weeks in secondary and then bottle. The question is... will an additional week make that much difference prior to bottling?

Shot way past expected FG... hummm

Started the Texas Bock mini-mash from AHS 2 weeks ago. Everything by the book. The recipe projected an OG of 1.045. I hit it right on the mark. Pitched WLP833 German Bock with an attenuation rate of 70 - 76%. No starter. Recipe projected a FG of 1.012. I hit 1.005. Both SG's taken at room temp...

    It's a "girl"... well, almost!

I'm more excited than a kid in a candy store! I feel like we're having a baby!!! First-time brewer so I imagine you old-timers can understand the excitement. Ordered a mini-mash Texas Bock out of Austin. I've got an older frig I've converted to a "cellar", so to speak, with a digital temp...
