    Yeast or Infection?

(Background) Until yesterday, I've always used a plastic Ale Pail for my primary fermenter. The down side to brew buckets is you can't see what's going on in there. Being curious, I used a 6.5 gallon "Better Bottle" so I could check out what those yeasties are doing. This is a very simple SMaSH...

    Looking for experienced brewers opinions

I have just a little but of money to spend and wanted to know what u should spend it on. A) Larger brew kettle and banjo burner for PMs and/or BIABs B) Draft system with 1 or 2 legs I see the benefits of both, but can only do one now. What's the consensus? A or B?

    A Question About BTUs

I'm planning to start my journey into All Grain Brewing. I have an opportunity to buy some equipment at an incredible price. This includes the boiler and burner. My question is: Is 58,000 BTUs good enough for 6.5 gallon boils? Obviously the more - the merrier, but will this be enough heat to...

    Will this recipe work?

This is an extract recipe for a very strong Scotch Ale. This is also the first high gravity brew that I've ever attempted to do. Will this work? And do you have any suggestions, techniques, or tips that you'd want to share? Amber DME * *7.000lb * *Extract * *51.6% Light DME *...

Need help with making a Red Ale.......red

Can someone tell me how to get a really bright red color in an ale? I know that even the macro stuff (Killian's) is really a shade of amber, but is it possible to brew a RED beer? I'm not set up for a traditional all-grain, but extracts and BIAB are doable. Any help and/or suggestions...
