    Critters

    So I was off and running on my first all grain mash and I opened up the tun to start pouring in the mash water when I noticed a few larvae crawling up the sides of the tun. I didn't really know what to do, but I figured it was "ok" since I know most grain has some bugs in it. I killed the ones...

    New Orleans Brewer

    Homebrewer in New Orleans here. Made 3 batches so far this year. Weihenstaphaner clone current in fermentor, Sweetwater 420 clone currently aging in bottles and just made a coffee stout recipe I'm going to make soon. Any other homebrewers in New Orleans hit me up.

    Pressure

    Brewed a Weihenstaphaner clone recipe on Saturday. Got some crazy fermenation going on right now to the point that I had to make a makeshift blowoff tube out of my siphoning tube. Pitched the yeast at 65F and have been using a swamp cooler to keep it at 65-68 (avoid the banana blast) Is it ok...

    Gelatin Fining w/o Cold Crash

    I'm planning on using gelatin for fining my Sweetwater 420 clone, but I don't have the space in my fridge to cold crash it. I know this will probably result in chill haze, but can I still use the gelatin w/o cold crashing the beer to help clear it out some?
