    What's your least favorite micro brewery?

    I think the worst I've ever had was Lancaster Brewing Company in Harrisburg PA. I tried a bunch of their beers on tab at the brewpub, but they all had the same off-flavor, couldn't quite place what it was. Was expecting much better...they suck.

    NC Brews

    I'll be heading to the Outer Banks for a week of vacation in a month or so. Can anyone make any recommendations? I imagine the selection will be somewhat different from what I normally see here in NJ.

    Steeping boil time

    I normally brew the AHS kits, but this time I got a can of Edme Wheat and some steeping grains from the local homebrew store. Do I still need to boil for an hour after adding the extract (after steeping)? I'm not adding hops, so I don't know if this makes a difference.

    Help Me Quick!

    I'm in the midst of brewing AHS Old Speckled Hen, and the recipe calls for 9ounces of corn sugar. I have light DME I could use instead. Should I use it? How much would be equal to the 9 ounces of corn sugar? Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

    Wort Chiller Adapter

    I just bought wort chiller and didn't get the adapter because I figured it wouldn't fit on the tap in my sink anyway. Can anyone recommend a good place to get something to hook it up other than Home Depot or my local hardware store? Or are those my only options?

    Favorite AHS Kits

    I've only tried a few, but so far I LOVE their American Pale Ale and American Pale Ale 2 (no longer available). Their Old Ale and Arrogant Bastard kits also deserve an honorable mention.

    Practical uses for bad batches

    What do you do with a batch of beer that went bad? Just tip it down the sink? I was wondering if it's worth spreading around the garden, or if my lawn could benefit from it. Or perhaps I could donate it to the local homeless shelter....:cross:

    Should I try brewing a lager?

    As the weather gets colder I know my garage will probably stay in the 50s for a while, so I reckon the fermenting would go ok, but what happens to the bottles of lager when the weather warms up again? Will they go bad if kept in the 60s? No, I don't have a fridge.

    Very little carbonation

    I don't get it. I bottled my AHS American Pale Ale over a month ago, and there is still very little carbonation.
