    keggle squeals

    So, I just fired up my keggles for the first time, and noticed that one of them makes a faint squealing noise when heated. I've read about the fabled exploding keggles, but this one has the holes drilled into the bottom lip, and doesn't appear to be sealed. Anyone else encounter this...

    igloo mash tun build question

    Hey all, I'm building a mash tun using a concave SS false bottom in a 10 gallon igloo, and when the bottom came today I noticed that the fitting sits approximately 5/8 of an inch above the floor of the tun. With a radius of 6.5 inches, that leaves a volume of almost 1.5 quarts of dead...

    Do I make the grade?

    ITT I'm looking for a definition of "food grade" stainless steel. I ask because I just got a bunch of parts from McMaster, and they're all different alloys (304, 316, CF8M). Can a home brewer run afoul of metallurgical principles by picking the wrong type of SS?
