    Off flavor in beet

    I have brewed 4 batches of beer now (5 gal batches). One (a christmas ale) has turned out well. All the others have had a certain taste to them (a soapy alcohol taste) even my christmas ale had the taste to it. Any ideas on why the beer is coming out this way ?. Thanks - Nick -

    fermenting

    Hey, i brewed my first batch a few days ago, at first the fermentation was very active, blew off the airlock, now there are no bubbles coming out of the airlock, the beer turned very cloudy, but now is starting to clear pretty well. Is it still fermenting ? its right at about 70 degrees.
