    Dead Guy Ale

DGA is advertised as a German Maibock. Aren't Maibocks considered to be lagers, not ales? Rogue uses an ale yeast..... Just curious

When to make a yeast starter?

I plan on brewing Sunday, a Rogue Dead Guy Ale Clone. I'm using Wyeast Northwest Activator yeast. When should I make the starter? How will I know it's ready to pitch? Thanks

I have a recipe that recommends Rogue Pacman Activator Yeast from Wyeast. Would it make much of a difference if I use US-05 dry yeast? I have it on hand.

    Pitching to a secondary fermenter

If my primary fermentation is being done in a bucket without a spigot, what is the best way to transfer the beer into the secondary or bottling bucket without exposing it to too much air. I have an auto-siphon, but are there any other recommendations. Any feedback is greatly appreciated

    Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar

I'm brand new to home brewing and received this extract kit as a gift. As I've read from others, the instructions are very vague. The instructions imply adding the flavor extract (2 oz of hazelnut flavoring) at the end of my boil, just before cooling. A video I watched said to add a flavor...
