    First logo idea

My dog's name is Max, my first brew is an amber ale. This idea is for a couple of bottles to keep/gift. I realize the background isn't actually amber, but the lettering and logo show up better this way. (made in MS Publisher)

Advice: 1 batch or 2 at once for first time?

Here's my quandary: I am getting ready to brew my first batch in the next couple of days, and I was planning to do one batch and see how it goes. However, I have all my ingredients for 2 full batches - one amber ale and one lager. (Both LME/specialty grain kits) So I thought I would do...

    Warming blanket for temp control?

I've searched, and saw a couple mentions of this, but no real info. I'm getting ready for my first batch, and I've been keeping track of the temps in the room where my beer will be fermenting. It's a spare bedroom in my house. With the heat vent closed, the room sits around 45 degrees...

Brand new - from upstate NY

Hey all, I'm Anthony from Rochester, NY. I've never brewed a beer in my life, but I'm hoping to read a lot and learn as much as possible before I get started. I love trying lots of different types of beer, but mostly I prefer stouts, porters, and dark ales. In particular, this year's...
