    Useing 2 different strains of yeastie beasties.

    I just want to check my thinking on this.... Lets say you want to use 2 different yeasts, 1 for flavor, and the other for getting your gravity down. In what order would you use them? My instinct tells me use the one for flavor first and use the higher attenuating yeast for finishing. So...

    How long should you leave oak chips in the secondary?

    :confused: Just wondering if there is a recomended time limit for oak chips in the secondary? I brewed this recipe today and it calls for oak chips in the secondary.     Skull Splitter Orkeny Ale

    I loved the beer great for winter time consumption. Def. warms the insides well. Its probably a good thing that the syrupiness makes you drink it slow at 8.5 abv. I will be drinking this again.
