Bottling carbonated beer(am i doing it right?)

Hi I have a question regarding longevity of carbonation in beer that is fully carbed from a keg (only CO2): simply, how long will my beer stay carbonated in the bottles if I'm bottling pre-carbed beer? My only bottling experience is with priming sugar and old fashioned homebrew bucket bottling...

Keg carbonation input (will I be set in a week?)

My main concern is that my beer won't be carbonated for this scholarship benefit in one week. I've got an Oktoberfest and a Pilsner kegged and "chilling" at about 39-42F and for the beginning of this second day, CO2 at 28-30psi. I didn't add priming sugar to the kegs. Tomorrow I am...

Bottled from Keg incorrectly - how to fix w/o carbonation drops?

I had a kegging accident where I forgot to keep the beer cool before I bottled from the keg with CO2. First time only error :( I have no local homebrew store that carries these "drops" and was wondering if there was a scientific formula of some sort that I could whip up my own batch of...

    Bottles not carbonated from keg

Hey guys, still new to the kegging/bottling process. Have 2 cases of bottles beer from a keg without carbonation. Added priming sugar to the beer upon kegging and also had CO2 pumping in during the kegging process (foamed a few bottles up). Any suggestions?

Need help using a bottling gun/cornelius kegs

Short story: Got the beers kegged, CO2 hooked up and carbonated the beer, but when I hook up the beer gun, the beer runs into the line a little, then when I press the trigger, no beer shoots out. Any help? Thanks.

Movin' on up! (Kegging and Filtering)

Hello my fellow brewers! I am tired of bottling beer and having to struggle with sediment. With that being said, I am looking for small scale (under $500 if possible) equipment to filter the junk out and keg. Does anyone have any suggestions or preferred products they can enlighten a...

    Fast fermentation

Hi guys, I'm brewing a beer for a friend, 5gallons, strawberry/pineapple ale (my own recipe). I need this ready by May 11th, and my ingredients (due to backed up shipping), won't be at my house to brew until Friday April 22. Can it be done? -J

Secondary - do I need to transfer?

I'm dry "hopping" with lavender in my current Spring Ale, and was wondering if it was a necessity to transfer to another carboy or can I just leave it as is? I'm thinking about kegging this batch as well, but don't have the system for it. I can get it on Austin Homebrew Supply for $134.99...

    Bottling before fermentation is complete?

My FG is under 1.015 and still has krauzen on top. Is this ok? Will something go wrong if it isn't fully fermented? (Is there such a thing?)

    Beer Not Bubbling (fermentation prob.)

Hi guys, I've brewed 8-10 batches of beer without any type of hitch, and this time I think I goofed (say it ain't so!). We brewed a partial mash with cinnamon, almond extract and peppermint. It got super thick (almost like molasses) and I added a bit more water to the wort as it was...

    Maple Syrup contrasted to Extract

Since I am running low on Extract (then switching to AG) I wanted to also finish off a gallon of Maple Syrup since I bought it awhile back hoping to use it. My question is: How much Maple Syrup is 1 gallon worth of Extract in terms of fermentables? What is the calculation for 1 gallon? I...

What keeps you from going pro?

Title said: If you have so many recipes, why don't you sell your beer?

    Extract --> AG (conversions)

If I have a solid Extract recipe (and I think I do) what would be the best way to go about converting that into an AG recipe? I don't know if I need to ask more than that either ;)

Sour aroma transferring primary to secondary

Curious about this because this is my first time using a secondary. When I bring my face in to get a whiff of the beer (love aroma) and I get taken back by a slap to the face by a sour-ish aroma! Now, I dry hopped a Chile Pepper/Ginger Amber Ale and thought it was just the dry hop leaves...

Does anyone have a good base for an Oatmeal Stout?

I have a few ingredients I want to work into an Oatmeal Stout, but I haven't come across anything significant as of yet. Just reaching out, seeing who makes a good one. Thanks for any help :) :mug:

Day 7 in the bottle pic

A bit of carbonation for day 7, not GREAT head, but a little. I also noticed the taste is there (orange, lemon, cascade hops) but it feels a little wimpy going down. Is there anything I can add to add a little more body? Add more extract? I'm eventually going to go AG method, but this was my...

    Moving Primary to Secondary timeline

I am to understand that a 10 day wait from Primary to Secondary is customary, but I will be out of town on my tenth day and won't be back to change it over until the 12th day. Will this be an issue?

Ingredient list - looking to make random weird brews

I have been waiting on some spruce tips in order to craft a cranberry/clove brew with spruce tip aroma, but I just went to my local orchard (has a better selection than the LHBS go figure) and picked up some: Blueberries Strawberries Pineapple extract Coriander Cinnamon Chili Peppers...
