    How smooth should a Barley Crusher roll?

    jamils chocolate hazelnut porter

    I just through a batch of this into the keg today, added half the hazelnut and tested it a couple hours later. Its a little hard to tell for sure as it is still a little warm and no carbonation, but the hazelnut seems way too potent. Almost ruin my beer potent. Anybody have a take on this...

    How much heat loss to a 10G cooler/mash tun

    Since I know a lot of brewers out there use the 10 gallon round cooler as a mash tun, could somebody tell me how much they account for heat loss when not preheating the tun? I know ambient temp etc will be a factor, but maybe some ballpark figures or even better a link to a calculator...

    Blow over and still stuck at 1.020
