    elctronics help

I have a magic bullet ( like a small blender if you don't know) that I would like to turn into a stir plate. My stir plate I have now is about dead. Is it possible to install some sort of rpm control? The rest of the modifications should be pretty easy. Thanks

Getting bored with 1056/001 any ideas?

I love pale ales and IPA's. I make starters and re-pitch washed yeast. What are you all using for these styles besides 1056/001. Is there a yeast I should try? Thanks

    bells two hearted question

I love this IPA and having brewed eschatz (sp?) recipe and loved it has anybody brewed the recipe from Zymurgy? The difference in recipes here and all over have hop additions closer to the end of the boil and possibly whirlpool. I have a starter of 001 going now (3rd gen) and I'm ready to brew...

    stuck belgian golden strong

After 7 days stuck at 1.030. I roused the yeast and have followed the recipe ( Jamil's) to a tee. pitched right amount and ramped up as per instructions. I also waited 36 hours to add the sugar so the yeast would focus on the wort sugars. Am I being impatient?

    Imperial brown help

I have this imperial brown in the keg and it turned out pretty good but lacks a bit in the overall flavor. I'm wondering about tossing some bagged hops in the corny. I know folks do this often but I have yet to try it. I have a good selection of hops in the freezer. Care to throw out any ideas?

I have just converted a keg and have a march pump, both never used. I can't wait to use them but how do you ocate the dip tube in the keggek?Been through the threads and so many opinions. Do I go to the center with a dip tube and false bottom? Or (my first thought was) try to stick to the side...

    disfunctional quick disconnect?

I am having some noob kegging problems. I have narrowed a foaming problem down to a faulty disconnect, I think. 3 keg system,2 hooked up and one has been foaming. I switched the line out to the other keg that was working right and that started foaming and the foaming one poured great. I took the...

adding water at end of fermentation

1066 beer turned 1086 when I boiled way too long. I should have topped off with water then but too many things going on hindered practical thought process, new baby etc. I had a pretty big starter stepped up once and fermentation is strong. I'm wondering seeing how I didn't add water pre-ferment...

    once again 10+points low

After implementing all I have read here and there I am still coming up low on my OG. Batch after batch. I brewed tonight and was supposed to be at 1.057 and ended up at 1.045.I'm hitting my temps, stirring my mash, I don't mash out. Should I boil longer and deal with the loss? Can I boil some...

From extract to baib to my first cooler as a mash/lauter ton today. All went well and the bayou classic sure beats the old stovetop. Here are the questions if anybody has the answers. what the ferm.

First ferm. in a glass fermentor. I had no idea this kind of action is going on. All of my batches have been in an ale pail and to see this churning seemed beyond what I thought wa going on on in there. Is this right or did somebody put a propeller in the bottom of my carboy while I was drinking.

    bottling after primary

I'm experimenting here because of limited equipment and hearing several folks saying secondary isn't needed for apa's. The first apa I bottled is still cloudy after 4 weeks in the bottle(I didn't go to the secondary but I did let it set @ 68 deg for 2 weeks after vigorous ferm. was over). I have...
