    second wines

    can you tell me about your experiences with making second wines? I have some frozen raspberries and strawberries, from previous wines, and was just wondering if the wines were worth the effort or not.

    yeast starter for apfelwein? and other ingredients?

    I've made wine before and they always recommend making a yeast starter, adding acid blend, nutrient, tannin, peptic enzyme, campden tablets to kill any wild yeast and boil sugar water to dissolve the sugar, let the campden work for 24 hours, check the sg, start the wine in a pail and stir daily...

    ? about sparkling apple cider

    I'd like to make the sparkling apple cider. the part that stumps me is the bottle caps, oxygen absorbing? I suppose they will blow if I use empty wine bottles I already have. Or is there another recipe for hard apple cider that would be easy?

    newbie to forum, love making wine etc. Apfelwein?

    I've made 27 various batches so far, (my first batch was in sept. 2006) another 50 recipies at least i would love to make. Apfelwein sounds very interesting. I have 5 gallons of cider waiting for me...would this be good for apfelwein or should I do an apple cider wine? I've been on my own...
