    2 tap tower

Almost finished up with a 2 tap tower made with 2" galvanized pipe. About $30 worth of fittings and I already had the faucets and handles from another tap box. I spray painted the pipe with some antique bronze paint, but it just looks black from more than an inch away :)

    Anyone tried AHS Smithwicks clone?

Just wondering because after putting their recipe into Beersmith I get an IBU of 42.7 and an SRM of 8.9. This IBU is way outside of the BJCP standard and from the info I can find online, Smithwicks has an IBU of close to 20. Also the recipe only has 2-row, 90L and 60L crystal. I would think...

So anyone know of any homebrew competitions coming up within the next few months near the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area? I've never entered a competition before, so I would like to enter a smaller local one first.

    Infection?

Yeah yeah I know another infection thread, but I haven't seen one posted that looks similar. So infected or just some kind of weird yeast icebergs? EDIT: It's hard to tell from the picture but it basically looks like a wheel of cheese about 2-3 inches thick that broke up into 4 large chunks.
