    Treating water with campden for winemaking?

    If I was to use tap water, and was unsure of it's quality (I have medium-hard water), how would I treat the water with campden tablets? Do I just add the tablets then wait 24 hours? Is it that simple?

    As I'm out of room in my smaller DJ's Any idea's what's good to start out with in a 5 gallon batch? Not a kit, I may make 5 gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein but that means buying 20+ litres of Apple Juice, The supermarkets here only sell them in 1-1.5 litre cartons I have 2 22.7 litre better...
